Obituaries Edith Stewart Mrs. Edith Stewart of New Maysville, Ind., passed away Aug. 4, at Logansport. She was married to Walter Stewart on Dec. 4, 1917 in Greencastle and was born in Putnam County, November, 6, 1890. She was the daughter of Marshall Robbins and Georgia Parallel Booker. Survivors are the friends who have taken care of her-Mr. and Mrs. Lester Wilson. She was preceded in death by Willie, of New Maysville, and Charles of North Salem. Bertie Elmore Mrs. Bertie M. Elmore, 79, Route 3, Cloverdale. passed away Sunday at the N. H. E. Nujsing Home in Danville. She was bom Sept. 22. 1894 in Owen County, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bertie Hood. She married James H. Stevens, who preceded her in death Feb. 16, 1955. On Nov. 24, 1955, she married Carl Elmore who died March II, 1974. She was a member of the Cloverdale Methodist Church Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Mary L. Helton of Phoenix, Mrs. Elizabeth Cope of Mooresville, and Mrs. Grace Roland of Tucson; two sons, James Stevens of Santa Monica, Calif, and Charles Stevens of Tampa, Fla.; a half sister, Mrs. Flossie Keller of Seelyville; 13 grandchildren; and 16 greatgrandchildren Funeral services will be conducted tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale. Davis, Sr, 52, died Saturday evening in a Chattanooga, Tennessee hospital. He was a truck driver and a former resident of Greencastle He had resided in the Tennessee city for the past 15 years. Survivors include his wife, Corrine Housley Davis; a son. Timothy James Davis; four daughters, Patricia Ann Davis, Linda K Davis, Mrs. Gloria Jean Barton, Mrs. Rebecca Louise Baumunk; a sister. Mrs. Loretta Swafford; a brother, Harold Davis; one granddaughter, Miss Mitsy Barton, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10 a m. Tuesday at the Ted Couler Funeral Home Chapel. 801 Vine Street, in Chattanooga Burial will be in the National Cemetery Russell John Lieske Russell John Lieske. 47, died at 10 p.m Sunday at the Culver Hospital in Crawtordsville He graduated from the New Winchester High School in 1944 and married Betty Simon, Aug. 16, 1953 and she survives. Other survivors are one daughter Rhonda Kaye and three sons; Gregory and Jeffery and Michael, all at home. A brother Raymond, Danville, and sisters, Mrs. Carl Estes, Melarie, La.; Mrs. George Ball, Danville; Mrs. Cecil Helton, Jr.. Hazelwood and Mrs Ralph Rader. Belleville also survive. A stepmother, Margaret Lieske, Indianapolis, and a brother Harold and sister Ruth Lieske are deceased. He worked construction and was the son of John A and Clara Brandt. The funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the PerkinsFuneral Home, Roachdale. Friends may call after 3:30 Tuesday Burial will be in the Blakesburg Cemetery.
