BPW’s Pitch In For July Picnic

Members of the Greencastle Business and Professional Women’s Club enjoyed a pitch in picnic at the Madison Township Fire Department recently. Rean Thomas was hostess. President Stephanie Vaughn led the business session and called on several committee chairwomen to make reports. Katherine Benner, legislative chairman, reported on the status of the Equal Rights Amendment. Rean Thomas noted seven members of the chapter along with three guests attended the annual Rose

Breakfast at Lafayette. The float committee has had two meetings and has selected a theme. All B.P.W. members are to meet at the home of Rosie Billingsley on July 11 and 18 to work on the float. President Vaughn announced the district meeting will be July 7 at the Ramada Inn in Terre Haute. Mrs. Hazel Grossbach of Brazil is the new district director. The national convention will be held July 21 - 25 in Chicago. The B.P.W. will have a booth at the First Annual Corn Festival, September 5 - 7. All members are invited to

the home of Rean Thomas the second and third Wednesdays in August for a wrapping party for surprise pacIA ages to be sold at the festival. Bernice Lewis announced that all future meetings will be held at the DePauw Student Union Building. Each member will be responsible for notifying Mrs. Lewis at 653-4854 if she cannot attend a meeting, otherwise the member will be charged for the meal. There will be no telephone committee. The next informal meeting will be at the home of Rosie Billingsley, Martinsville St., to work on the float for the fair parade.
