The Greatest Undertaking
Garreth Clair There is no greater undertaking in life than to undertake the responsibilities of being a Christian. Perhaps some folks think that to be a general in one of the armed services is the greatest undertaking for men. Perhaps there are those who consider being President of the United States the greatest responsibility that men today might attain. These are all great and noble aspirations, but to be a faithful Christian is the greatest of all undertakings. In consideration of this fact we present the following points for your examination: 1. Because of the Association: (a) We have fellowship with the Son of God as a Christian (1 John 1:3). (b)
We have fellowship with all other Christians anywhere in the world (Acts 2:42; Gal. 2:9; 1 John 1:37). 2. Because of the Joy of Bringing Others to Christ. (Through Teaching): (a) We know that all who will not repent will be lost, both in this world and that which is to come (Luke 13:3; Acts 17:30) (b) We know that there is great joy over just one sinner who will repent (Luke 17:7, m 3. Because of Bringing the Erring Back (Through Teaching): (a) Necessity is laid upon the faithful to restore those who have fallen by the wayside (Gal. 6:1), 4. Because There is no Salvation Apart From Being in Christ (A Christian): (a) Acts 4:12: “Neither is there salvation in any other: For there is
none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” 5. Because Christians Must Be Faithful Always, Even unto Death: (a) Rev. 2:10-Demands faithfulness, (b) 2 Timothy 4:8-Paul says that there is a crown of life awaiting all the faithful. 6. Because of the Terror Awaiting the Sinners: (a) Eternal condemnation in torment (1 Cor. 5:5; 1 Thess. 5:3; 1 Thess. 1:9; 1 Tim. 6:9). These are but a few of the facets connected with being a Christian. Now, do you think anything is more important? 1 am thoroughly convinced that being a Christian is the greatest goal in life that anyone could possibly attain. Don’t you think so?

WORRY CLINIC George W. Crane, PhD., M.D.
Hortense is like many Women’s Libbers who think they are smarter than God. But most of them, if normal in their physiology, will succumb to that reaction of a paper clip to a magnet when they meet a virile male! CASE A-678: Hortense K., aged 24. is a career journalist. *‘Dr. Crane." she began belligerently, “you seem to think that women are created just to satisfy the male ego. “Plus his desire for sex! “That's not so, for I know many members of Women's Lib who are quite content to remain unmarried. “And others, who now have husbands, enjoy the friendship of their mates but are not motivated by sexual passion. “So why don't you face up to reality? “Why do you still parrot the old-fashioned views that modern Women's Libbers have proved unsound?’’ GRAVITY AND SEX Gravity and sex are not outmoded just because we live in an age of astronauts and computers. True enough, some women as well as some men are not “normar in their glandular secretions, so they are deviates. But the vast majority of both sexes were created to respond to their structural and chemical constitutions. And the normal female has an innate urge to be picked as the mate of a virile male. This inner “affinity'’ is not due to modern education
or advertising or sophisticated college training. God Almighty made men and women to respond to each other, just as he made iron to respond to the presence of a magnet. For example, if you lay a small magnet on the table and then place a paper clip very near, the clip will jump across the intervening space to make contact with the magnet! Even if you lay the clip so faraway it cant jump across the intervening space, that clip still "feels" the "pull” of the magnet and if it could speak, would admit it had a “crush" on the magnet! This explains the wild excitement of teen-age girls when a dynamic male,
whether athlete or singer, enters the room Even Solomon marvelled over this magnetic attraction of girl for boy and vice versa, as note Proverbs 30: 19: ”... I know not . . . the way of a man with a maid.” It is really just an example of physiological magnetism.
It has existed ever since Adam first laid eyes on Eve in the Garden of Eden. And will persist as long as men and women inhabit this planet! Women’s Libbers may rant and rave, but they can’t alter the attraction between a magnet and a bit of iron. Nor of a girl for the magnetic attraction of a boy. However, some metals were created by the Almighty so they do resist the pull of a magnet.
In 1909 Dr. C. I. Scofield wrote the following passage in the Introduction to the Scofield Reference Bible: "The last fifty years have witnessed an intensity and breadth of interest in Bible study, unprecedented in the history of the Christian Church. Never before have so many reverent, learneo and spiritual men brought to the study of the Scriptures, minds so free from merely controversial motive. A new and vast exegetica! and expository literature has been created...." Even the years that followed the writing of this passage produced many great Bible expositors, but their number has since
Lead is typical of an inert metal that apparently would experience no romantic “feel” for the magnet, even if the lead could talk. And some inert Women's Libbers may likewise live with a husband in a platonic relationship. But a normal husband and wife exude and also feel this bisexual magnetism, due to their chemical and physiological structure. God made us that way despite modern smart alecks
dwindled fast, until today evan-gelistic-revival campaigns have all but replaced the great, thrilling Bible conferences of a few decades ago. Regardless of the popularity of such campaigns, however, the Church will not make true progress, either in spiritual power or in the number of genuine converts, until it once again places due emphasis on the Word of God, both in private study and in public ministry. Unpopular but vital Bible doc-
who would have us believe they are smarter than the Almighty. So send for my medical booklet “Sex Problems in Marriage," enclosing a long stamped, return envelope, plus 25 cents and learn how to channel this inborn human magnetism properly. (Alwoyi writ* to Dr Cron* in cor* of this n* wipop*r *nclo«ing a long i!amp*d od dr*»»*d *nv*lop* and 25 c#nti to cov*r typing and printing cottt wh*n you tond for ono of hit booklott )
trines have stopped many preachers and Bible teachers short and hindered them from bringing to the Scriptures "minds free from merely controversial motive," largely because the price of standing for these truths has seemed too great. Until it is the sole passion of men of God to know THE TRUTH and make it known, revival will not come, for the Church has never made one step of progress apart from progress in the study of the Word.

By ANDY LANG AP Newsfeatures From various sources come these bits of information of interest to home owners: Whether you are on the lookout for a new house or merelyread the newspaper advertisements about houses, you know the prices continue to rise. Did you know how much? The average sale price of a new singlefamily house sold during 1973 rose 14.1 per cent to $34,800, a $4,300 increase over 1972 average sale price. Single-family houses sold in 1973 totaled 619,000, 13.8 per cent below the total sold the previous year. The largest regional increase in price was in the West, the smallest in the Northeast.
More and more buyers who use architects to have new homes built are expressing a desire for designs that reflect a “return to nature.” A survey b y McGraw-Hill Research showed that most buyers want house designs which blend in with natural surroundings. The architects themselves were overwhelmingly in favor of the use of wood on sidings, patio decks.interiors, windows, structural components and roofing. The survey covered 105 architects in the leading 20 major
construction markets as designated by the United States Department of Commerce.
Four principal problem areas in housing, housing finance and the housing sales industry were listed by Sheldon Lubar, the Federal Housing Administration commissioner, in a Washington conference with realtors. These areas are the escalation of housing costs, which price out of the market those with incomes under $20,000; the steepening of the home building and the mortgage money supply cycles; the high number of mortgage defaults in central cities and undersubscribed programs, and serious delays in the processing of applications. Among the reforms he suggested were the freeing of the FHA interest rate to permit it to rise and fall with the market; eliminating discount points, and the offering of a co-insurance program wherein the loan originator would accept a portion of the risk.
