A Little Of: This And That

Could this be a first? 1 am told that the Joe Cain family are enjoying greenbeans and potatoes from their garden. They must have got the stuff in before the rains. 000 I am sorry to report that William C. Zaring, a former Greencastle resident now living in St. Petersburg, Florida, entered a hospital in that city last week. My information is that he is on the critical list. 000 And speaking of Florida. I enjoyed chatting with Keith Hall, another former local man yesterday. Keith is here from Fort Myers looking up old friends of 30 years ago. 000 Here’s heartiest congratulations to Floyd and Cora Eastham. 332 North Arlington. They celebrated their 47th wedding anniversary on Tuesday and I certainly hope they have many more happy anniversaries. 000 Fathers Auxiliary No. 1 of

Gen. Jesse M. Post 1550 Veterans of Foreign Wars was represented at the state convention in Terre Haute this past weekend by Past Commander Carl Myers and Quartermaster Joe Alice. New officers for the Indiana Fathers Auxiliary Department are: Commander, Louis Wyler of Michigan City. Senior Vice Commander, Graydon Woodhurst of South Bend. Junior Vice Commander, William Schlendicke of Valparaiso. Chaplain, Harold McBridge of New Albany. Quartermaster, Claude Lemon of Crawfordsville. Sgt.-at-Arms, Bill Nicodemus of Mishawaka. 000 DID YOU KNOW: “Genghis Khan” is not a name: it means “great king of kings.” The real name of the man we refer as Genghis Khan was Temuchin. 000 “The sins committed by many pass unpunished.”
