EASTMAN SALUTES KOUSSEVTTZKY ROCHESTER, N.Y. (AP) - The Eastman School of Music held a “Salute to Koussevitzky” in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the late conductor of the Boston Symphony and founder of the Tanglewood, Mass., summer music series and the Berkshire Music Center. The program included a concert by the Eastman Musica Nova followed by a panel disc u s s i o n . Howard Hanson, American composer, former director of the school and close friend of Koussevitzky, chaired the discussion. On the panel were persons who studied conducting with Koussevitzky at Tanglewood and musicians who served under him in the Boston Symphony. Among guests was the maestro’s widow, Mrs. Olga Koussevitzky.
