fore, his deep affection for the opposite sex was “conditioned" (habituated) to a short, freckled girl with blue eyes. As a college senior, he met such a coed at a dance and says he fell in love with her at first sight. Actually, she merely “triggered” the release of all the childhood devotion he had built up regarding his governess. But Terry didn't realize that this coed hadn't "earned'' his respect and affection.
