On her w*y to setting a new record in the “see how many clothespins you can hold in one hand” contest is Elizabeth McClure, advisor for Future Homemakers of America (FHA) at Greencastle High School. According to FHA president, Lou Ann Green, the previous record was 14 clothes-
pins. Miss McClue was able to hold 17 before one of them fell out of her hand. The game was played at an FHA party Monday night at the high school. The organization will be sponsoring the FHA district meeting March 30 at McAnally Center. (Banner-Graphic Photo)

Troil-Shoner To Wed Mr. and Mrs. Charles Trail wish to announce the approaching marriage of their daughter, Sandra, to John Shaner, both of Greencastle. The wedding date has been set for Saturday, Feb. 9, at 7 p.m. in the home of the bride's parents. A reception will follow the wedding. All friends and relatives are invited to attend.

The Domestic Engineers Extension Homemakers Club met Wednesday afternoon, Jan. 16, with Mrs. Diana Hansel. The president, Patricia Hoopengarner opened the meeting and gave a short prayer before the salad luncheon. The members enjoyed a carry-in salad luncheon and gift exchange for their belated Christmas party. Patricia Hoopengarner gave the lesson on “Baking with Yeast.” She showed some sourdough starter and told how to make the starter and how to use it in baking. The members enjoyed sourdough bread and sourdough chocolate cake with luncheon. The minutes for the November meeting were read by secretary June Puckett and approved. Diana Hansel gave the treasurer’s report
and collected some dues. The roll call was answered by seven members with the “one thing 1 would like to accomplish in 1974.” It was decided to go the nursing home on Feb. 13 to play bingo with the patients. Members are asked to bring gifts for bingo winners. The members will meet at the nursing home at 1 p.m. For the February meeting members are asked to bring materials needed to learn to crochet or materials to make placemats. Secret Sister’s names were drawn for the year. The drawing, fur flowers brought by June Puckett, was won by Sharon Blaydes. Carolyn Weaver volunteered to bring the gift for the February drawing. The next meeting will be Feb. 20 with Mrs. Sandra Hutcheson at 1 p.m.
