a Little of: And That

With the courthouse closing on Saturdays due to the energy crisis, offices are open until 5 P tn. on Fridays. The usual closing time is 4 p.m. Jewel Blue, county treasurer, told me that his office and the office of Johnny Carson, county auditor, have had hardly anybody in between 4 and 5. Apparently people didn’t know or have forgotten about this extra hour on Fridays, so this is just a reminder. By the way, the courthouse will be closed from Friday afternoon, December 21st until Wednesday morning, December 26th, in observance of the Yuletide. 1 presume the same closing schedule will be in <*ffect next weekend for over l\ew Year’s Day. 000 A breakdown on a Penn Central Railroad freight train resulted in the Bloomington Street crossing tracks being blocked for almost an hour between 7 and 8

o clock Wednesday morning, according to the city police. As a result, traffic was backed up for blocks on both the north and south side of the crossing. 000 From all weather indications we may have a White Christmas. 000 And speaking of Christmas, the annual Christmas party of the courthouse personnel was scheduled for today noon on the second floor of the building. Good food and the usual exchange of gifts was the order of the day. 000 DID YOU KNOW: Ted Williams was the last baseball player to hit over .400 in a major league season. He batted .406 in 1941. 000 The Pacific Ocean, which covers one-third of the globe, is so huge that it can swallow the seven continents. 000

In Memoriam In loving memory of Norma Cope Curran who left us December 20,1972. The shock was sudden, the pain severe, We little thought that grief was near, Only those who have lost can tell. The pain of parting without farewell. Our hearts still ache with loneliness, Our eyes shed many tears, Only God knows how much we miss her, At close of one sad year. In Memoriam

In Memoriam of our dearest friend Mary Elizabeth Haulk who passed away January 15,

1973.

Yule light all aglow. But they aren’t as bright as they used to be. But lo! A star in the East appeared. To lead the wiseman to Mary, part of us went too. I know she is waiting and watching for us, somewhere not far from Gods throne. Oh Heavenly Father this night I pray. That light may shine again for

Mary

And shed its beams to show

the way.

That lead to heaven and her. In memory you’re here on Christmas seasons. Though time has passed since. He took you away. We can never be the same. Until the day when God shall

come.

And take us home with him. With Love Sadly missed by all of her best girlfriends. Ga ry and Deborah Moore Eleanore and Marlene Shillings

Donnie On Christmas Day in advance this year it won’t be the same because you aren’t here. We’ll remember the fun we had three years ago. It was lots better cause you were here Donnie. This year we’ll get a tree and our gifts. But you won’t be here to give us a lift. In our hearts will be a hurt that sink deep inside.

We are your mom and dad. brothers v sisters Without you it is hard to know what Christmas means to us. We can’t be happy anymore on Christmas because you aren’t here. In our hearts sits a path of sorrow and fear. But we’ll try to go on and be strong too. Donnie we will always love you as long as we live. Home can never be the same until the day. Judge Inzer Wyatt, of the U. S. District court of New York, ruled that five major drug companies had overpriced the antibiotic Tetracycline to Indiana agencies by over two million dollars between 1953 and 1966. Indiana joined the suit in 1968. More than one million of the 2.2 million is being divided among city and county hospitals, and to the state on behalf of state hospitals in Indiana. The court named the American Fletcher National Bank of Indianapolis to administer the trust fund to repay the institutions under the direction of a trust advisory board.
