Mothers with small children, teen-agers, and working girls, have to use good judgement in time schedules, budgeting, and getting quality as well as quantity in the things they buy. Undoubtedly they do most of their own hair curling, shampooing and styling. But, ladies, did you know that with a good permanent as a base you can achieve lovely hair styles with the least time consumed, to look charming and attractive all day long, and with just a little rearranging can have an entirely different style for the evening. Make an appointment with us for your next permanent wave, which will give you the proper support for any style you desire. CATALINA BEAUTY SALON 227 E. Washington St. Phone 653-3239

Learning Center In Need Of Toys Mrs. Robert H. (Sandra) King has announced that the Putnam County Learning Center is in need of sturdy toys and tricycles for its class of mentally retarded youngsters. Mrs. King said: “Any toys that your children have outgrown will be deeply appreciated by the children’s teacher, Mrs. Betty Smith.” She added that the Learning Center also needs volunteers--people who are willing to be on call for service there when the need arises. Monetary contributions would also be appreciated. Toys, money and names of interested persons may be given to Mrs. King, 816 Stadium Drive (653-3735), or to Mrs. Betty Pehan, 700 E. Washington St. (653-5345). In speaking of the Learning Center, Mrs. King said: "The Learning Center's task is to train and educate retarded children to the extent of their capacity for learning. It is a difficult job, requiring much patience and dedication and love for these handicapped children. Toys provide an excellent learning experence, and chance to practice co-ordination and speech, as well as to give pleasure. These are experiences which are taken for granted by most normal children. ” She continued by saying “If you can help by providing toys or your time, you will be giving something invaluable to the children at the Center.”
