Offer Denied By Judge Tyler Committee Votes To Cut Bomb Funds

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. District Court Judge Harold R. Tyler Jr. said he had turned down an offer from Atty. Gen.-designate Elliot L. Richardson to become the special Watergate prosecutor. Tyler said he was “reluctant to resign as an active judge” although the Watergate assignment was “important.” Tyler, 51, said he notified Atty. The meeting is scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. at the Indiana University—Northwest campus in Gary. Conducting the meeting will be Vincent Brown and Victor Warren of the federal insurance administration in the Chicago office of the Department of

Housing and Urban Development. Two communities along the Lake Michigan shore, Beverly Shores and Long Beach, are under the program. But there has been some concern in Michigan City because of a provision in the program which would prohibit further construction along the lake. The program also has been questioned because coverage does not extend to erosion damage, one of the primary problems along the Lake Michigan shoreline.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The Senate Appropriations ComPrices Plummet Again NEW YORK (AP) — Stock market prices plummeted again for a fourth straight session yesterday, sending the Dow Jones industrial average below the 900 level for the first time in several months. Skyrocketing gold prices and continued heavy pressure on the dollar Were cited by analysts as factors behind the market’s decline. The Dow Jones average of 30 industrials at 10:30 a.m. was down 11.29 to 898.40. The last time the blue chip indicator closed below the 900 level was on Jan. 27, 1972. Today’s slide comes on the heels of a more than 46-point decline in the Dow over the past four sessions. On Monday, the Dow dropped more than 18 points, its largest single-day decline in almost three years.
