Supporters of the farm bureau believe that they now have a stronger appeal for membership than ever before; In former years many farmers have refused to contribute their support to the farm bureau on the grounds (that the organization had never been of benefit to them. It will now be possible for the farm bureau member to point to a very convincing record of accomplishment, in soliciting the support of his neighbor farmers. Four main ideas will be presented in the campaign for 1933 members of the bureau. First, it will be pointed out that every farmer in

Indiana has profited by the efforts of the farm bureau in 1932, through the work of the special session of the legislature for which the farm bureau was . largely responsible; through the reduction of property valuations which was actively urged by many county farm bur

ireau groups; and through co-opera-! tive marketing and purchasing f j duties organized by the farm: bu- : reau. Second, it will be pointed out I that farm bureau leaders must be supported by a large membership !if their views are to receive any j considerable weight in the coming I sessions of congress and the state legislatures; Third, it will bepointj ed out that in former years a small

group of farmers have been bearing the entire burden, of farm bu-

i reau work while the farmer who 1 vnfiiaaA tsi -irtirt Vine? han TAfivi7l P

i.w . o many direct and indirect benefits from farm bureau activities. Fourth, it will be stated that farm relief is mainly a problem for farmers to solve through their own organized effort, rather than a responsibility to be shoved onto the shoulders of other classes and occupations, most of whom are already troubled ; by - problems of their own. It is expected that many farmers will hesitate to join because of

the membership fee of $5, arguing that money is too hard to get to justify such an expenditure. That money is scarce among farmers is generally agreed but farm bureau workers point out that the fee of $5 is: remarkably small as compared with the membership fee for other organizations of a similar kind. Business and professional people frequently express surprise at .this low membership fee for such an important organization as the farm bureau. Furthermore, this excuse has long been a vecy common one, even when farm prices were high. It has been wider ly used by farmers who wished to avotft any personal responsibility for improving the condition of the farming industry. It can be shown by the friends of the farm bureau that all memberships in the farm bureau have been repaid many times over. Special efforts will be put forth in the approaching campaign to demonstrate the desirability of every farmer joining the farm buv reau and to proving that such action will be in the best interests of the individual farmer and of his neighbors, as well.

RADIO WEDDING ON STAGE

TO HAVE UNI

Members of the Art group of the A. A. U. W. will meet at one o'clock Saturday afternoon in the fine arts studio of the I. U. library.

JOIN JOIN JOIN the great humanitarian organization. Red Cross.

Bloomington's most unique wedding The Daiiy Telephone-Publix Princess Theater Radio Wedding which will take place next Tuesady at the Princess will be, as far1 as could be learned this week, the first time that a radio wedding has been solemnized from the stage of any theater in the world. There have been other unique weddings; stage weddings have had their day. Now comeis the radio wedding, where the principals speak into a radio microphone, in full view of the theater audience, their words relayed through a modern amplification system to loudspeakers in the theater. The stage itself will be set to resemble a radio broadcasting studio,

with the words of the bride, groom and minister and the music of the orchestra and featured singer apparently being sent over the air to millions of listeners-in. Those on the stage will be shut away from the audience by a scrim curtain which will be hung before the stage so the effect to them will be much as if they really were in a studio. The curtain will in no way prevent the audience from viewing everything that takes place on the stage. The stage at the Princess theater will be specially decorated for the occasion, with potted ferns and plants from the Ellis Floral company in the background. A stage set will be sent from Chicago.
