Adult education classes can help you see into your future. Programs and services offered: Adult Basic Education (ABE) and 6ED Program provides free classes day and evening, for those who need any of the following services: basic math, language arts, or reading review; preparation for the GED examination; preparation for employment or job advancement, and preparation for the Graduation Qualifying Examination. The GED program has become a significant means for adutts to acquire a high school equivalency diploma. GED tests cover language arts, reading and writing skills, social studies, science, and mathematics. There is no cost for this program. Adult Secondary Credit (ASC) provides the opportunity for adutts who did not finish high school to return and complete credits to earn a regular high school diploma. This includes preparation forthe Graduation Qualifying Examination (GQE). English as a Second Language (ESL) classes are designed to provide English language instruction to non-English speaking adutts and to provide them with the information needed to understand and function in an English-speaking culture. This service is offered at no cost. Even Start is a family literacy program that integrates adult education, age-appropriate early childhood education, and parenting support services. Parents attend education classes to prepare for the GED, college, and/or employment. Children are provided childcare services in our nursery, toddler room, or preschool. Parents are also provided parenting classes, and there are activities each week where parents and children participate together. The program is free to qualifying families. Project Read provides one-on-one tutoring to non-readers or low-level readers to leam to read better. This service is offered at no cost.
