for the Indiana Youth Institute where he represents the organization in providing leadership, resources and support to youth-serving organizations and individuals across Central Indiana. Formerly he served as the Executive Director of the Roy C. Buley Community Center. He has spent the past 10 years working in communitybuilding, youth development and public service. Micah has a proven record of working with and caring for our community, families and youth. Micah is a life-long

resident of Muncie. In spite of humble beginnings and his family’s struggle with poverty, he has continually strived to persevere, make good choices and lead by example. Micah has committed his career and life towards being a community advocate, assisting others and being a leader. Micah has a very close immediate family including his mother, two sisters, one brother and two nieces and two nephews. He hopes to get married and raise his own children in the future. In addition to his

career in public service, Micah has also been involved in bettering our community through volunteerism and philanthropy. He is actively engaged as a mentor for numerous young people. In addition he has been an advocate for youth in school, court and at home. Micah currently serves on the Board of Directors of Meridian Services Corp, the Cornerstone Center for the Arts, the American Red Cross Hoosier Heartland Chapter and The Star Press Children’s Charities. He also serves on the United

Way Allocations Panel, and the Weed and Seed Task Force. Micah was instrumental in creating the Mayor’s Youth Council where he also served as an advisor for several years. He is a member of Sunrise Rotary and volunteers at the Muncie Community Schools. Micah is also actively engaged in ministry at Union Missionary Baptist Church where he is a member.
