Don’t let the Dream Go Dp in Smoke
Dr. King’s Dream of eliminating disparities at every level of our society is in serious jeopardy of going up in smoke. 38 years after the death of Dr. King, African Americans are still dying at disproportionate rates from preventable diseases; like cancer, heart disease and high blood pressure. Ail of these deadly diseases can be significantly reduced through one simple action — eliminating smoking. Join The Minority Tobacco Free Coalition of Delaware County in celebration of the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King. Just as he fought against discrimination, disparities and injustice, The Minority Tobacco Free Coalition advocates for smoke free environments and a smoke free life style. Tobacco is a terrible health burden for this community to bear. For more information on how you can help, call Judy Mays at 765.747.7814, x384.
“...of all the forms of injustice, discrimination in health care is the most cruel. ” Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.
