Is it possible for nose spray to travel into my eyes?

When used as directed, it is highly unlikely that a nasal administered rhinitis medication could reach the ocular surface via a direct route. It is easy to understand, though, how a portion of ophthalmic medication delivered to the surface of the eye could blend with tears and drain to the nose. Topical administration of medication is often the best choice for treatment of localized ocular symptoms. When instilling an eyedrop, the medication will reside briefly on the ocular surface, and then drain. So, it is much more likely that eyedrops would drain to the nose than nose spray would travel up to the eye.
