MUNCIE STAR PRESS NEWSPAPER CARRIERS

Since July 2004, we, the motor route carriers and the bundle haulers, have been trying to bargain a fair contract with the Muncie Star Press; a Gannett owned paper. For 25 years our differences have been settled without “interruption of services.” That history is now in jeopardy with the purchase of The Star Press by Gannett. Our city home delivery brothers and sisters have been attempting to bargain a fair contract since December 2004. Management wants to take away our vehicle improvement bonus, our gas allowance, our holiday pay (even though we work 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year), our right to only be disciplined for just cause, and the list goes on and on. The city home delivery carriers have none of these benefits yet. We need your help in coming to a fair and equitable agreement with The Star Press. Please tell The Star Press (765-213-5750) that you stand behind us and support us in our struggle to get a fair contract and to be treated with the dignity and respect that we all deserve. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
