Fiscal Year 2005 Grant Applications Available Community Development applications for funding in fiscal year 2005 are available in the Community development office, 300 N. High St., Muncie, IN. Business hours are Sam to 4pm Monday through Friday, except holidays. This application was created with the Word program; if you do not wish to complete this application by hand, or with a typewriter, we will copy it for you on a 3 1/2 inch diskette that you must supply; you may email the department at community dev @ cityofmuncie.com and receive your application as an attachment; or you may download your application from the community Development page on the city of Muncie’s website at www.cityofmuncie.com. If you choose to email the department, please give a brief description of your project to assist staff in sending the correct application. If you choose to download the application from the website, please note that three applications are available and be sure to use the appropriate application for your program. Applications will be due back before 3pm on January 7, 2005. All funded applications will be included in the fiscal year 2005 consolidated Plan that begins on or about June 1, 2005. The Consolidated Plan directs the allocation of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and Home Investment partnership Program (HOME) monies in the City of Muncie. CDBG funding can be used to revitalize neighborhoods, expand affordable housing, and/or improve community facilities and services, principally to benefit low- and- moderate- income persons. HOME funds are used to expand affordable housing opportunities for low- andmoderate- income people. The City, through the Consolidated Plan, defines its priorities for addressing housing, homeless and community and economic development needs. Muncie receives funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development through the Community Development Block Grant and HOME Investment Partnership Programs to fund activities in its Consolidated Plan.
