A Shepherds Heart A Shepherds hearts, is one who cares For Gods lambs and His sheep He cares for everyone the same And tries to always keep Them safe from harm, or straying Down the mountain side He gives a shepherds heart to those Who in God’s will abides One whose kind and gentle, long suffering and still When troubled waters rise, above the banks Onto the land Where treasured sheep are pastured The Shepherd quickly stands and leads them to
higher ground To pastures rich and green The Shepherds heart is loving Never harsh and never mean, Jesus said, “I know my sheep, and They will follow me. He said “I’m meek and lowly. And that’s how that we must be. The proud, the loud, the haughty, uncaring and the vain Will no be counted with the flock, when Jesus comes again God’s little flock, His sheep and lambs Must on compassion feed, on mercy, love, and kindness From Shepherds who are true When one is hurt a
Shepherds heart says I’ll do what I can do” To heal your broken spirit to ease your troubled mind And I’ll never push ahead and leave you far behind I will not ignore you, as though you’ve never been Counted with the Masters flock, I know that would be sin Not to be respecter of His sheep, when trouble Their way The Shepherd gathers them around, and says, “Lets talk and pray.” There are many Pastors, many Shepherds tend the fold But a Shepherds heart controlled by God Is worth it’s weight in gold.
