POETRY CORNER
MY BROTHER IN A WORLD
Oh, my brother....so heavily sedated For this time our forefathers have waited And some squander the few opportunities we have By letting “the system” keep them mad But we’re filled with his drug filled with his drink Any diversion....for us not to think And I share in the hunger and the pain But in this rut, I refuse to remain I charge you, to be frustrating instead of frustrated For this isn’t why they were mentally and physically castrated
In a world of have and have nots The secret is being thankful for what you’ve got Hm not saying you shouldn’t have a dream But back it up with a plan, a path, a scheme To achieve those things you want out of life Learn how to be steadfast, strong, an how to fight For those things you want or hold dear You must be willing to sacrifice without fear
A BRIDGE TO CROSS Itis a known fact that life is full of ups and downs And whatever comes around goes around
We all can be something, if we want to be However, in ourselves we must believe We can’t be permanently side tracked by a setback For persistence and determination we can’t lack Life is to be lived, but we all must have goals For in the end we must have something to show. And there is a time in life that we all must make a change However, it is not for anyone else to arrange We must make our own breaks, form our own bridge, And do the best we can do; we have only one life to live

POP BOTTLE LOVE Oh yes! You’ll get what you pay for And there are few regrets for walking out the door It can be as touching as it is stimulating And just all
together... .captivating It can be momentary or life long Make your own decision if it’s right or wrong But with pop bottle love we all must learn That it all comes down to, no deposit ....no return
