King Day Service continued from page 3 He concluded, “God is just taking you through, to get you to and he’ll give you double for your trouble.” The 7:00 p.m. service was the culmination of the King Day activities. Others included an early day breakfast at First Merchant’s Bank and workshops at Muncie Central High School. The service was preceded by the annual candlelight march from Central High School to Christ Temple Church. The Rev. Kevin Woodgett. pastor of Church of the Living God was coordinator of music. The Rev. W.C. Edwards, pastor of New
Hope Missionary Baptist Church was master of ceremonies. The Rev. Bryant Crumes, pastor of Word of Life Church was chair of the planning committee. Bishop S. Michael Millben, pastor of Christ Temple Church and president of the Collective Coalition of Concerned Clergy presented the MLK Community Service Award to Carl Kizer Sr. Pastor W.J. Jackson received the MLK President’s award. Sponsoring organizations for the event were: the City of Muncie, C.C.C.C., First Merchant’s Bank. MITS. Muncie Black Expo and Muncie Community Schools.
