Director of Student Support and Development Ivy Tech State College East Central Region has an immediate opening for a Director of Student Support and Development at the Muncie Campus. This position provides leadership for student support and development services in the region and manages the Perkins Grant. Administers and supervises student support and development services, which may include assessment, intervention strategies, retention, transfer, career advising, disability services, and student activties. Minimum qualifications include: Bachelor’s Degree in Counseling, Higher Education Administration, Social Work, Student Personnel, or other Human Services field required. Five (5) years of progressive experience in academic advising and three (3) years of supervisory experience are required. Successful applicants should possess demonstrated project management skills, be computer literate and available to work flexible hours. Preferred qualifications include: Master’s Degree. Individuals with a knowledge of government regulations regarding student services delivery or related professional certification. BANQUET AND CATERING CHEF/SUPERVISOR UNIVERSITY BANQUET AND CATERING Full-time, regular staff position available immedately. Responsibilities: plan, execute, and oversee food production, presentation, loading and delivering for elegant to casual, on and off premise banquet and catered events for up to 500 guests and plan and execute food production for designated menu selections served in the Cardinal Crossing food court; under direction of the General Manager, perform all full range of supervisory and managerial duties, including but not limited to managing food cost, food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, ordering food and supplies, performing culinary training, presentations, exhibitions and display cooking; and perform other duties as assigned. Minimum qualifications: completion of culinary training from an accredited culinary program which includes a diversified curriculum encompassing all types of food preparation and food stations, ice and food carving, and commerical culinary management or equivalent training and experience; over three years of direct or related experience (exclusive of teaching) preparing meals, refreshments, banquets, and party foods for 10-500 or more guests in a university, restaurant, banquet hall, hotel, or resort setting with financial success; experience in supervising a production staff of 10 or more; demonstrated knowledge of and expertise in executing successful on and off premise catered events of all types, including fine dining, barbecues, cookouts, buffets, etc.; must possess a valid Indiana Employee Permit for serving/handling alcohol or obtain such permit within reasonable time period after hire as determined by Ball State University; must possess skills in oral and written communication. Preferred qualifications: associate’s of bachelor’s degree in business, food management, or culinary mangement; over five years of direct or related experience as detailed in minimum qualifications; active member of ACF (American Culinary Federation).
