Few people know that thousands of African-American pioneers came to East Central Indiana in the 1800s and built strong, vibrant communities. Although all pioneers confronted great challenges, black pioneers faced dangers that their white brothers would never know. This exhibit explores the development of those communities and the challenges that these pioneers encountered.
Hours: Mon.-Fri., 9 a.m.-5:30 p.m., Sat., 9 a.m.-8 p.m., Sun., 11 a.m.-5:30 p.m. Admission: $3 child/student/senior; $5 adult; $15 family.
