Congratulations to John Doudle, a second grade student at Storer Elementary school who won

second place in the Reading Rainbow Young Writers and Illustrators contest. John won second place nationally for his book, Marvin Gets Framed. Written and illustrated by the young author, it is about an ant accidentally framed into a picture and the ant’s attempt to escape. Along the way, the ant acts as different parts of the picture, including a mustache, necklace and baseball cap. Over 45,000 entries were received from around the United States. Although WIPE has sponsored students each of the 7 years the contest has run, John is the first local student to win at the national level.
