Goodall Mr. and Mrs. Harry Evans received about 100 guests at a reception held at their home on Ebright Street Sunday in honor of their son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. William Taylor. Potted palms and garden flowers were used in the decorations. The serving table was laid with an embroidered white linen cloth and centered with an arrangement of garden flowers and crystal punch bowls were placed at each end of the table. Presiding at the table were Mrs. Charles M. Booher, Mrs. J.3. Smith and Mrs. Harvey Thomas. The hostess was assisted by Mrs. Leroy Davis and Mrs. Lava Scott. Mr. and Mrs. Taylor were married Saturday afternoon in South Bend. Out-of-town guests were Mr. and Mrs.
Phillip Freeman Sr., and Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Freeman Jr., of St. Paul Minn. Mrs. James Ferguson recently entertained members of the W.F.C. Club at her home on North Penn Street. The next meeting will be held Tuesday evening, June 29, at the home of Mrs. Hershel Lewis on Windsor Street. The M and W Club will meet Sunday at 6:30 p.m. at the home of Mrs. Francis Jones on Riverside Avenue. Houshold of Ruth 4618 will meet Friday evening in the hall on East Williard Street. Following the business meeting refreshments will be served. The Junior Missionary Society of the Calvary Baptist Church will present a full program Sunday evening at the Bethel A.M.E. Church for the Senior Choir. The General Missionary
Society of the Calvary Baptist Church will hold its regular monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 24, at the
church.
The Rev. Mr. Waters, pastor of St. John Baptist Mission, will be the guest speaker Sunday evening at the Mt. Zion Baptist
Church.
The Weaver Missionary Society will meet after the mid-week prayer
service to be held at the Union Baptist Church Wednesday even-ing. The Young Women’s Missionary
Society will meet
Thursday at 7:30 p.m. at the church. A rehearsal for the play “Seek and Ye Shall Find” will be held Thursday evening. Men’s Day will be observed all day Sunday at the church. Breakfast and dinner will be served by the Men’s Club in the basement. The Rev.
Horace Alexander of Connersville will be the guest speaker at 3 p.m. The Rev. Mr. Alexander will be accompanied by his Junior Choir. The W.F.C. Club will hold a barn dance Saturday at McCulloch Park. Dinner will be served Saturday and Sunday starting at noon at the home of Mrs. Lena Rogers, 1316 E. First St. For deliveries
