RELIGION Who is the GREAT I AM??? The way of faith

In the Holy Bible we read about the great "I AM" and many honest and sincere people wonder who He really is. The following list of Scriptures has been compiled and we shall let the Bible speak for itself. The Bible says: "I AM thy shield" Gen. 15:1; "I AM the Lord:" Gen. 15:7; "I AM the Almighty God" Gen. 17:1; "I AM the God of Abraham" Gen 26:24; "I AM with thee" Gen. 26:24; "I AM the LORD GOD" Gen 28:13; "I AM the God of Bethel" Gen. 31:13; "I AM GOD Almighty" Gen. 35:11; "I Am GOD" Gen. 46:3; "I AM the God of thine Fathers" Exodus 5:7; "I AM that I AM" Exodus 3:14; " I AM the Lord your God " Exodus 5:7; "I AM the Lord that healeth thee" Exodus 15:26; " I AM the Lord that doth Sanctify you" Exodus 31:13. He said "Ye shall be Holy for I AM Holy" Lev.

11:44; " I Am thy part and inheritance" Numbers 22:20; In Deuteronomy 32:39 He said " I AM He, and there is No GOD with me"." I AM He" Isaiah 43:10; "I AM the Lord, your Holy ONE" Isaiah 43:15; " I AM He that blotteth out your transgressions" Isaiah 43:25; " I AM the first, I AM the last, beside Me there is NO GOD" Isaiah 44:6; " I AM God of Israel" Isaiah 45:3 " I AM the Lord and there is NONE ELSE" Isaiah 45:5-6; "I AM He, The first and the last" Isaiah 48:12, "I AM He that comforteth you" Isaiah 51:12; " I AM merciful saith the Lord" Jeremiah 3:12; "I AM married unto you' Jeremiah 3:14; "I AM the Lord which exercise loving-kindness, judgement, and righteousness in the earth" Jeremiah 9:24: " I Am the Lord, the God of all flesh" Jeremiah 32:27; "Even I know and AM a witness saith the Lord"

Jeremiah 29:23; "I AM a great king" Malachi 1:14; " I AM the Lord, I change not" Malachi 3:6. In the New Testament we read in Matthew 11:19 " I Am meek and lowly in heart" ; " I AM with you always" Matt. 28:20; He said " I AM come to send fire on earth" Luke 12:49-50; "I AM come in my FATHERS NAME" John 5:43; " I AM the bread of life" John 6:51; "I AM the light of the World" John 8:12; " I AM one that bear witness" John 8:18; "I AM the door" John 10:7 ; " I AM the good shepherd" John 10:1; and " I AM the WAY, the TRUTH, and the LIFE" John 14:6; " I AM Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end" Rev. 1:8; " I AM alive for evermore" Rev. 1:18; " I AM HE which searcheth the hearts" Rev. 2:23; " I AM the root and offspring of David, the bright and morning star" Rev. 22:16. It is very clear from

reading the Bible that the Lord in the Old Testament is the very SAME as the Christ in the New Testament. This is what the Apostle Peter preached in the day of Pentecost which was the day the New Testament Church was born. We find in Acts 2:36 where "God hath made the same Jesus.... both LORD and CHRIST." So many people are confused as to who the GREAT I AM really is but the Bible gives the answer very clear in Acts 9:5 when it says " I AM JESUS who thou persecutest". Jesus Christ is the great I AM and he is still calling out to people from heaven today pleading with them to be born again. We read in John 3:5 " Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he CANNOT ENTER into the kingdom of God." Peter preached the only true plan of Salvation on the day of Pentecost and it

is found in the book of Acts chapter 2 and verses 38 and 39. " Then Peter said unto the (1) REPENT and (2) be BAPTIZED EVERYONE of you in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins, and YE SHALL (3) RECEIVE THE GIFT OF THE HOLY GHOST. For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the LORD>OUR GOD shall calf". hI " I plead with you today in the Name of Jesus Christ to consider the destiny of your never dying soul. Won't you please seek the Lord while them is still time left for you. You can have old time Salvation just like the Bible said.

Bethel AME Young People’s Department will host their annual youth day at 4:00 pm on Feb. 18. The theme is “A Testimony of Talents” Guest will include Union Missionary Church and Faith Center for all Nations. Plan to have a spiritually uplifting time praising God and celebrating Black History Month. Rev. Barbara Harris is pa$tor

Spiritual Baptist Church will host a Friends and Family Day on Feb. 18. The speaker for the 11 am service is Rev. K.T. Turner of Indianapolis. A special mission service will then be held at 4-pm with the Rev. Paul Barrett, Assistant Pastor of Mr. Pisgah Baptist Church, Kokomo as speaker.

The Mt. Pisgah choir will provide the music. Barrett will be taking a team to the Phillippines in the spring. Evangelist Gloria Barnes of Spiritual Baptist Church will travel to the Phillippines to minister in the crusade. Others who may be interested are invited to attend this fundraiser service. Rev.
