Short Jordan book offers hope, inspiration
I Can't Accept Not Trying. Michael Jordan on the Pursuit of Excellence Text by Michael Jordan HarperSan Francisco, Publisher Goals, fears, commitment, teamwork, fundamentals and leadership are among the topics candidly discussed in this inspirational book. In 36 pages, Jordan says "I can accept failure. Everyone fails at something. But I can't accept not trying." I enjoyed Jordan's short and to-the-point view of discipline and goals. The book helps the reader understand that individual success is made possible by a collective and consistent effort. Jordan attributes his success to the inspiration and support of friends
and family, especially the love and guidance of his parents. Setting goals and understanding purpose, whether in the NBA or leading a family, requires consistency. "The people I admire, all created their own vision. And they didn't let anyone or anything distract them or break them down," he said. Good insights and practical wisdom make this book an excellent buy. It sells for $12.95 By Judy Mays
