George McCulloch was the County Clerk who helped many of the AfricanAmerican Civil War Soldiers of Delaware Co. in their struggle for veterans benefits. “He assisted the poor and poured sunshine in the dark places”, “he has been a builder, a creator of character, and a power for good in this community.” McCulloch donated nearly all the land that would become McCulloch Park.
