Tae Kwon Do classes available If you're looking for a fitness regimen that improves self-confidence, concentration, flexibility, speed endurance, flexibility, speed, self-disci- ' pline and your ability to defend yourself, the CHS Wellness Center has the program for you. No, it isn't Tae Bo. It's Tae Kwon Do. The Wellness Center is home to the American School of Tae Kwon Do, where every Tuesday and Thursday night, classes are taught in Studio A. The children's class is at 7 p.m., and adults work out at 8 p.m. "Programs like Tae Bo or simple kickboxing are excellent cardiovascular workouts based on martial arts techniques," said Earl Parsons, a third-degree black belt and head instructor (sensei) at the school. "We teach a form called American Tae Kwon Do that uses more hand techniques than Korean Tae Kwon Do. We bring the mind and body together through breathing, concentration, relaxation, stretching, strengthening, blocking striking and kicking techniques. "If you're involved in Tae Bo/Kickboxing workout continue it. But if you'd like to learn how to expand your mental and physical abilities then martial arts is a must." Call the CHS Wellness Center at 747-3643 for more information. Enrollment is limited.
