Carl Ware becomes CocaCola consolidated board member

CHARLOTTE—Coca-Cola Bottling Co. Conslidated has named Carl Ware to its board of directors. Ware is executive vice president, global public affiars and administration for The Coca-Cola Co. “We are very pleased to have someone of Carl Ware’s ability and extensive knowledge of the soft drink business on our company’s board,” Coca-Cola Consolidated Chairman and CEO J. Frank Harrison III said. “We look forward to his insights and major contributions as Coca-Cola Consolidated and The Coca-Cola Co. continue our strategic partnership.” Ware began his career at Coca-Cola in 1974 as an urban and governmental affairs specialist. In 1982, he was elected vice president, urban affairs and was named senior vice president in 1986. Prior to his current appointment, he was president of The Coca-Cola Co.’s Africa Group, with operational responsibility for 50 countries in sub-Saharan Africa. In addition, Ware served on the Atlanta City Council for 6 years and was president of the council from 1976 to 1979. He is very active in community affairs, is chairman of the board of trustees of Clark Atlanta University and serves on several corporate boards. He is graduate of Clark College and holds several postgraduate degrees from the University of Pittsburgh and Harvard University. Charlotte-based Coca-Cola Consolidated is the nation’s second largest Coca-Cola bottler with franchise territories in 12 Southeastern states.
