Gauldin completes internship

Lt. Governor Joe Kernan, above right, announced that Dwight Gauldin of Gary has successfully wrapped up his internship in the Lieutenant Governor’s Office. Gauldin, public affairs major at Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis, worked for the Indiana Small Business Development Corporation in Indianapolis. “Dwight did a great job for us,” said Kernan. “He assisted with several important projects, and I appreciate his efforts. He has learned a lot about public service in a few short months—it’s knowledge that he’ll use for a lifetime.” Gauldin was among 14 men and women chosen to participate in the 1999 Lieutenant Governor’s Summerlnternship Program. Applications for the 1000 Lieutenant Governor’s Summer Internship Program will be available in March of next year. To be eligible, students must be entering theirjunior or senior year of college or taking graduate courses. No specific major is required, but an understanding of state government is essential.

Reader wowed by ‘Annie’ I picked up a issue of your paper, and I read with much interest the article written about the wonderful stage play “Annie.” I found it quite odd the names of some of the main cast was mentioned in the article, but never gave the name of the little girl that played the part of “Annie.” I found it strange as the play was built around the child “Annie.” My family, and I saw the play, and the talent of this little girl just blew us away. We left the theatre that evening feeling we have been entertained. We hope to see all of this great cast in more plays. Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Jackson. Muncie
