Muncie resident stars in production of ‘Annie’
By Tabatha A. Tower-Harris Originally from Springfield, Illinois, Terry Witt Bailey was one of the main characters in the Stage One Family Theatre/Muncie Center for the Arts production of Annie. The stage play, based on “Little Orphan Annie and directed by Craig Gibson was performed September 1 7 and 18. Bailey portrayed “Grace Farrell,” the private secretary to tycoon Oliver Warbucks. In this role, Bailey was allowed to utilize her singing and dancing talents. Bailey obtained her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers University with a double major in dance and communications studies. She also obtained her master’s degree from UCLA in dance education. After graduating from UCLA, Bailey accepted a job as an assistant professor of dance and fitness at Ball State University in 1988. In 1991, she got married and moved to Chicago and taught dance and fitness at Chicago State University. She is currently working on her doctoral degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago but decided to return to Muncie and work at Ball State while working on that degree. “I accepted the position with Ball State because it gave me the opportunity to do different things in the administrative capacity,” said Bailey. Bailey works in the capacity of assistant for information technology development where she assists the executive assistant to the president at

Ball State in any type of programming that deals with information technology. Bailey is very active in arts related civic duties in Delaware County. She serves on the board of directors for the Muncie Civic Theater, the Muncie Center for the Arts and for the 401 Kids program. Bailey said that she loves to sew, crochet and watch movies with husband. She also said that she enjoys playing with son. “I’m an indoor person, and love water as long as I’m in a boat,” said Bailey. “I love swimming, but don’t take me fishing,” she said. Bailey is a member of Union Missionary Baptist Church where she participates in the college ministry and is co-leader with her husband of the “Experiencing God” ministries there.
Marsh stores begin Kid’s Club
INDIANAPOLIS—Beginning this month, Marsh shoppers with children can make a family txip to the grocery more kid-friendly with the launch of the Marsh Kids’ Club. Kids 4 to 12, may have their very own card scanned to receive a “Treat of the Week,” along with other special offers. “The Marsh Kids’ Club is another example of how we continually look for ways to enhance our customers’ shopping experience,” said Don E. Marsh, chairman and CEO of Marsh Supermarkets. “This Kids’ Club gives children something to look forward to when, they accompany their parents on trips to our stores.”
To join the Marsh Kids’ Club, a parent or guardian must have a Fresh IDEA card and fill out a Kids’ Club application, which allows the child to receive a special kids’ card featuring Marsh’s Kids’ Club mascot, Fielding the Mouse. In addition, kids will also receive a copy of Fielding’s Fun Book, filled with games, coloring pages and recipes; a sheet of Fielding the Mouse stickers; and a Marsh Kids’ Club belt hook for their card. With the launch of the Marsh Kids’ Club, a new interactive web page on the corporate web site (www.marsh.net) also has been developed. It will feature games and special offers for members.
