Catherine Louise Roberts, 68, died at Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Roberts was born in Elizabethtown, Kentucky to the late Reverend Leslie V. Jenkins,Sr. and Catherine Elizabeth Jenkins. Mrs. Roberts graduated from Simmons High School in Versailles, Kentucky. She attended Ball State University for two years. She retired from Ball Memorial Hospital in 1983 after 18 years of service, where she worked in the Dietary Department. Catherine accepted Christ at an early age at Corinthion Baptist Church in Frankfort, Kentucky. She was a faithful member of Calvary Baptist Church where she sang in the choir. She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving husband of 48 years, Earl Richard Roberts; four sons, Rick W. Roberts (wife: Kim), Randy E. Roberts (wife: Renee), Robbye L. Roberts, Ralph D. Roberts (wife: Lisa); one daughter, Rhonda K. Roberts; six sisters; June Davis (husband: Robert), Lois Washington, Jesse Porter (husband: Frank), Thelma Warsaw, Carol Jenkins, Lucretia Thomas (husband: Clifford); 17 grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. She w as preceded in death by her mother Catherine Jenkins; father, Reverend Leslie V. Jenkins, Jr.; and her sister, Betty Edwards. Arrangements were made by Carmichael Funeral Services. Elmyria Wilson Gudger On Sunday morning, October 24th at 9:45 a.m., God came to claim his Blessed Angel, Elmyria Wilson Gudger. Mrs. Gudger was born September 27th, 1915 in Holly Springs, MS to Andrew Stevenson and Eva Wilson, and has made Muncie her home for the past 70 years. For many years she worked as a domestic, and was also employed by Ball Memorial Hospital and Butterfield Cannery. She was a member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church for the past 57 years and w T as active in the Senior Choir and Senior Missionary until her illness. Mrs. Gudger had also been a member of Northeastern District Mass Choir. She leaves to cherish her memory, five daughters, Ora Mae Webster, Indianapolis, Cassie Griffin (husband: William), Muncie, Marion Joan Turner (husband: Jordan Jr.), Anderson, Judy Carey (husband: Thomas), Muncie, and Priscilla Smith (husband: William B.), Muncie; two sons, Henry L. Grudgerjr. (wife: Sheryl), Muncie, and Harry L. Grudger (fiancee: Audrey Avery), Arlington, Texas; one sister, Liddia Robinson, Muncie; two nieces, Velma Thomas and Mar)' Robinson, Muncie; 27 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 25 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; son-in law Charles Webster; brother-in-law, Clay Robinson; granddaughter, Darlene Webster; greatgranddaughter, Desiree’ Turner and great-grandson, William L. Turner Jr. Arrangements were handled by Faulkner Mortuary. Cleazell Olden Cleazell Olden, 76, 901 S. Wolfe Street, passed away on Friday, October 22, 1999 at Ball Memorial Hospital. She had worked at Ontario Corporation. Mrs. Olden lived in Muncie for 45 years coming here form Huntsville, AL. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, three sons, Leonard Olden, Waukegan, IL, Larry Olden (wife: Sharon) and Lamonte Olden (wife: Stephanie), both of Muncie; two step-sons, Ernest Olden and Donald Olden, Princeton, KY; a daughter, Chonita Crawford, Muncie,; two stepdaughters, Patricia Bradden, Greencastle, IN, and Georgia Granger, Anderson, IN; a sister, Odella lung, Pittsburgh, PA; three special friends, Rosella Thompson, Kathryn Serf, and Wilma Barnes; one nephew, Roger McDonald, Pittsburgh, PA; 13 grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. She w f as preceded in death by her husband Ernest Olden and sister Mary Ivy.

Mother Deborah Anderson w r as born January 13, 1915 in Trenton, Tennessee to the union of Pleas and Eliza Powell. After a long illness, God saw r fit to call her home. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His Saints. Psalms 116:15. A well spent life came to a close on Sunday, October 31, 1999 at 3:50 p.m. Mother Anderson moved to Muncie, Indiana in 1966 and united with First Street Church of God in Christ. She later moved her membership to Terrestrial Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor James Lawson. There, she was a faithful member of the Mother’s Board until her illness. She leaves to cherish her memory four sons, Milton Smith (wife: Doris), Anderson, Indiana, James Anderson (wife: Jean), Humboldt, Tennessee, Robert Anderson (wife: Frances), Fort Worth, Texas, Preston Anderson, Anderson, Indiana; three daughters, Rosemary Lyons, Dorothy Joseph, both of Muncie, Vera Humphries (husband: Silas), Anderson, Indiana; two brothers, Charlie Powell, Humboldt, Tennessee, Lewis Powell, Buffalo, New York; three sisters, Martha Wells, Cleveland, Ohio, Priscilla Settles, Phyllis Powell, both of Muncie; a special cousin, Alma Mock, Cleveland, Ohio, 19 grandchildren, 22 greatgrandchildren, and a host of relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband B.C. Anderson; one daughter, Louise Smith; two brothers, Aquilla Powell, Hillary Powell; two sisters, Ella Sanford, Gracie Penn, and her parents, Pleas and Eliza Powell. Arrangements were handled by Gholar & Gholar Funeral Service.

Willie J. Ratliff Lifelong resident Willie J. Ratliff, 39, 1414 E. Eighth St., died Monday in Ball Memorial Hospital after a long illness. Mr. Ratliff w r as a security guard for CPP in Indianapolis. He attended True Vine Holiness Tabernacle. Survivors include a son, Willie Ratliffjr.; a daughter, LaRisha Ratliff; his mother, Pauline ratliff; a brother, James L. Ratliff; a sister, Barbara Ratliff, and two grandchildren. Faulkner Mortuary is handling arrangements.

David Warren Benson David Warren Benson, 74, 2202 N. Cicott Road, Attica (Independence), died Friday, October 8, 1999, 5:22 a.m. in the Home Hospital, Lafayette. He had been hospitalized for tw r o w'eeks. He was born in Warren Township of Warren County, Indiana, on March 9, 1925. He was the son of David and Susie Petro Benson, Jr. He graduated from Pine Village High School in 1943 and w^as a life resident of Independence community. He farmed all of his life in Warren County and after his retirement from farming went to work at Miles Farm Service in Pine Village until 1994. He was a 50 year member and Past Master of the Green Hill Lodge #455 F. & A.M.; member of the Scottish Rite Valley of Indianapolis; former member of the Hope Chapter O.E.S.; avid Purdue University Football and Basketball fan. He served as a Councilman-at-Large in Warren County from 19791989. He also had served as a Trustee in Warren Township for two terms. He was married to Shirley D. (Ward) Moore on August 9, 1997 in Independence. She survives. Also surviving are two sons, David Ted Benson, Indianapolis; Allen Benson, Boston; a daughter, Mrs. William (Carolyn) Hail Newman, GA; four stepsons, David Moore, Anderson, Adam Moore and Rob Moore, Attica; Mark Moore, Lafayette; two brothers, John E. Benson, Lafayette, Robert D. Benson, Independence; a sister, Dorothy Miller, Muncie; two grandchildren and six step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and three sisters.
