CHS Health Strategies, Cardinal Health System’s rehab, occupational health and wellness clinic, has announced its partnership with BorgWarner Automotive to provide a new 1,800 square foot wellness facility for Borg-Wamer employees. The wellness center will house fitness equipment supplied by CHS Health Strategies. Borg-Warner has been providing some on-site wellness programs for some time. However, the opportunity to provide the equipment room was made possible in the last year because of reorganization of the plant’s floor plans. “The large facility allowed BorgWarner to expand all health services: physical therapy, nursing services and physician care of work-related injuries,” said Lou Goss, Borg-Warner’s manager of employment and safety. “In addition it will allow us to take our wellness programs from the passiveeducation type to the physically-active types. “The relationship with Cardinal

Health System goes back many years. And was solidified in the last year when we decided to make them our health care provider of choice for all workrelated injuries,” Goss said. Dr. Michael A. Santoro, CHS Health Strategies’ medical director and specialist occupational medicine, is BorgWamer’s plant physician. “The mission of Cardinal Health System is to improve the health of the communities we serve,” said Santoro. “By completing this joint venture with one of the area’s largest employers, we are taking more steps to improve the well-being of these employees and a large portion of the community by educating them on the benefits of fitness and injury prevention.” Add Goss, “Employees will have convenient access to equipment and resources to maintain or gain physical well being. The Employee Wellness Center is not only an investment in the well being of Borg-Wamer employees, but a sign of the corporation’s commitment to the future of our plant.”
