Children’s Museum seeks local artist’s audition tapes
The Muncie Children’s Museum seeks audition tapes and information from local artists for a potential series of interactive performances and activities on “Family Friday Nights.” “Family Friday Nights” will take place on the first Friday of each month. The activities are for families with children and preschool through early grades. Artists should demonstrate history/ability to work with younger children. Performances should be interactive and last up to 45 minutes. For more information, contact Shonet Lambert-Martin, director of education and exhibits, at 286-1600 ext. 14. CM Poetry Club will meet on Friday, April 9 at 6:30 p.m. at the south Madison Center. New poets are welcome. For more information call Dee Flarris at 747-4750.
The Indiana Fair Housing Task Force will present the second Annual Indiana Fair Housing Summit, “Fair Housing: Every Community’s Responsibility, on April 12 and 13. This will take place at the Indiana Government Center South Conference Facility in downtown Indianapolis. For more information call 1-800-628-2909. Advantage Home Health Care was recently named
Provider of the Year by the Indiana Association of Area Agencies on Aging. The nomination was made by LifeStream Services, Inc. Advantage was nominated because of its high ratings on LifeStream’s satisfaction surveys, community involvement and support of Senior Games. Betty Harris was nominated for the media award by LifeStream. Harris wrote a weekly “Senior Scene” column for The Muncie Star Press for many years.
Planned Parenthood of Central and Southern Indiana’s Institute on Sexual Health is accepting registrations for it’s workshop, “Sexuality Education: Techniques for Teachers of People With Disabilities.” The workshop will be held 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. April 8 at the American Red Cross in Lafayette. Registration is $50 ($25 for Indiana State employees) Scholarships are available. The workshop will also address methods to lessen risks of sexual assault, a problem which has become increasingly prevalent among those with disabilities. For more information call 1-800-421-3731.
