an interactive medium that would be educational, informative, engrossing and appeal to a broad audience, including students, teachers, scholars, historians and anyone interested in the history of this country.” The Amistad Incident takes participants aboard La Amistad (ironically, ‘friendship” in Spanish) on an evening in July 1839, as the schooner sailed along the north coast of Cuba. The rebellion of the Amistad’s captives, their determination to return home, their arrest by U.S. authorities, their trials, their court battles and ultimately, their freedom are brought alive through interactive media.
