200 Hoosier Businesses on tap for McIntosh’s Job Fair in Muncie Applications for more than 1,500 jobs will be taken at Job Fair in July WASHINGTON-Rep. David McIntosh, R-Ind., on Wednesday announced that more than 200 business-representing 1,500 available jobs-from throughout Indiana will participate in the upcoming Job Fair co-hosted by McIntosh and Ball State University. McIntosh announced the Job Fair, to be held July 9, earlier this spring with BSU president John Worthen and community leaders representing both labor and business groups. The Job Fair will be held at BSU’s Arena. At last year’s Job Fair, held at the Muncie Armory, at least 287 Hoosiers found jobs. More than 100 Hoosier businesses participated in last year’s event and nearly 5,000 job-seekers attended. For this year’s Job Fair, McIntosh and his staff have assembled a working team of union leaders, local chambers of commerce and community leaders throughout the 2nd District to ensure scores of expanding business attend the Job Fair. “I’m proud that Hoosiers are coming together to help our neighbors.” McIntosh said. “The response to this year’s Job Fair has been overwhelming, and I’m confident the Job Fair will help both employees and employers match needs. By bringing everyone together under one roof, we’ll provide working men and women with the help they need.” Second District media have participated by airing public service announcements to encourage employer and employee participation. The 2nd District Job Fair will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Ball State University’s Arena [Concourse Level] in Muncie. The Job Fair is free and open to the public. Professional advisors will be on hand to assist job-seekers with resume-writing and sharpening interview skills. Those who do not have a resume should bring recent employment history with them to the fair so specialists can assist them on-site.
