Immediate opening for an individual to perform duties related but not limited to the construction, replacement, repair, operation, and maintenance of the Heating Plant and all types of steam installations. This is a temporary position that is scheduled to end September 5, 1998. Applicants will be willing to work varied days, including weekends. Minimum qualifications: • High School Diploma or Equivalent (GED) • Completion of an apprenticeship program as a Stationary Engineer or Millwright as approved by the Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training, or eight (8) years of verified proof of experience as a Stationary Engineer or Millwright, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Valid Indiana Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Preferred qualifications: • Vocational training in stationary engineering or millwright • Experience in stationary engineering This position pays $16.54 per hour and will remain open until filled. Immediate opening for Senior VAX Systems Programmer/Analyst to supervise and provide technical support in all areas for the VAX and Windows NT Enterprise systems support group; provide technical support in all areas related to the VAX cluster, Windows NT Enterprise and related systems; maintain system hardware and software perform capacity planning, performance measurement, and catastrophe planning for VAX/alpha systems. Minimum qualifications include: • Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in computer science, business, information systems, math, graphic arts, science, technology or related area • Experience with administration of large scale VMS cluster systems; experience with supervision of technical staff • Three (3) through five (5) years of OpenVMS enterprise level systems management experience, including experience with third party utilities such as PMDF and Multinet Preferred qualifications include: • Specialized training in VMS internals and utilities; Windows NT Enterprise training • Formal training and/or certification in Windows NT and BackOffice products • Five (5) years systems programming with OpenVMS consulting role or in specialized software and analysis with user community in an OpenVMS or Windows NT environment Ball State University offers an excellent fringe benefits package.
