Bill Lynch to be United Way Kickoff Keynote Speaker Ball State University head football coach, Bill Lynch, will be keynote speaker for the 1997 United Way Campaign kick-off luncheon at noon on September 9 in the Horizon Convention Center. Cost to attend the luncheon is $15 a person, or $120 for a table of eight. Reservations are needed by September 2, and can be made by calling United Way at 285-5586. Lynch became Ball State’s head football coach in 1995 after serving as an assistant coach for the Cardinals in 1990,1991, and 1992. Last year he coached the team to their fifth Mid-American Conference Championship and a berth in the Las Vegas Bowl. The Cardinals, who lost their first three games in 1996, won their last eight games, including seven straight MAC wins. “Our campaign theme this year is ‘The power of U’, and Bill Lynch will start us off with a great ‘power lunch’ kick-off on September 9,” said Jack L. Demaree, 1997
