Turner on Parks & Recreation Board

IT A Turner was recently named by Muncie Mayor David Dominick to complete a city Parks and Recreation Board membership that expires Dec. 31. Turner, 28, said she hopes she will do a good enough job so that the mayor will reappoint her to a full 4-year term in 1994. She has been working for Indiana Gas Co. since 1990, shortly after her graduation from Indiana University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in management and organizations and personnel and industrial relations. The Indianapolis-born Turner is a Muncie-based gas company regional administrative representative. “I am responsible for human resources functions, including recruiting, hiring,

training, benefits, employee relations, community and media relations,” she said. “I started out in corporate human resources but I wanted to get experience in front line operations. This usually happens in regional offices. “That’s why I came to Muncie. Moving here was a career development move.” Turner said she was “pleasantly surprised”
