Colonel Harry A. Welsch, Senior Army Instructor for the district, stated that many men are joining the Army Reserves as they learn details of Public Law 810, passed by the Eightieth Con-
gress.
Under this law, both Officers world
and Enlisted personnel in the Army reserve become eligible for retirement pay after having serv-
ed 20 years as reservists.
The Indiana Organized Reserve now has 8,358 enlisted men on its rolls. Most men are trained in command post exercises and two weeks annually in the field. The district has 7,575 Reserve Officers, of these 175 are WAC
and Nurse Reservists.
Reservists receive a full day’s pay for every two hour period of training if they are assigned to an active unit, depending upon the type of unit.' The reservists are paid from one drill per week to one drill a month. The Reservists meet weekly in Armories and Reserve Headquarters

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICES “Reality” is the subject of th* Lesson-Sermon in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, March The Golden Text is: “Since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God. beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him” (Isaiah 64:4). Among the citations which comprise the Lesson-Sermon is the following from the Bible: “Because thou hast made the Lord, which is my refuge, even the most High, thy habitation; There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways” (Psalms 91: 9-11). The Lesson-Sermon also includes the following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “My angels are exalted thoughts, appearing at the door of some sepulchre, in which human belief has buried its fondest earthly hopes. With white fingers they point upward to a new and glorified tnist, to higher ideals of life and its joys. Angels are God’s representatives^’ (p. 299),

Sheep School Held In County Sheep school flemonstration meetings were held last week in the basement of the Eden Con-gregational-Christian Church in Hamilton Township, and on the farms of A. Whitney Myers, west of Royerton, and Floyd C. Duncan, Perry Township. Henry Mayo, sheep specialist of Purdue University, said that profitable sheep management hinged on four principal factors. These were: Breeding, winter feeding, adequate succulent pastures, and control of parasites, both internal and external. The Purdue man explained that the use of high quality purebred rams on Western Ewes produced rams which averaged four pounds heavier than native lambs at four months of age. Through the use of good alfalfa brome grass, ladino mixed pastures, experienced sheep men had produced two-thirds of a pound gain per day per lamb. Mr. Mayo emphasized the importance of liberal grain feeding of corn and oats four or five weeks previous to lambs paralysis. In the control of internal parasites, a drench of copper sulfate and Black Leaf 40 was recommended. The dipping with dry lime sulphur dip, Mayo said, was the most effective means in controling sheep ticks. Plans were made at the afternoon meeting for the lamb Improvement Marketing Program in the Muncie area to be held the coming season. The 1949 committee in charge, headed by Lawrence Love, president, was authorized to put the 1950 program in effect.
