POST-DEMOCRAT, FRIDAY, AUGUST 2, 1946.

CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICES “Truth” was the subject of the Lesson-Sermon in all Churches ol Christ, Scientist, on Sunday, July 28th. The Golden Text was: “Into thine hand I commit my spirit: thou hast redeemed me, O Lord God of truth” (Psalms 31:5). Among the citations which comprised the Lesson-Sermon was the following from the Bible: “And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God; Who also hath made us able ministers of the new testament; not of the letter, but of the spirit: for the letter killeth, but the spirit giveth life” (II Corinthians 3:4-6). The Lesspn-Sermon also included the _ following passage from the Christian Science textbook, “Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures” by Mary Baker Eddy: “Lulled by stupefying illusions, the world is asleep in the cradle of infancy, dreaming away the hours. Material sense does not unfold the facts of existence; but spiritual sense lifts hmnan consciousness into eternal Trffth” (p. 95).

Indianapolis — Two little girls, about 8, walked up to the desk at the Indianapolis Library and handed the librarian two books. “There will be a 30-cent fine for overdue charges,” the librarian told them. The little girls thought for a moment, then one said, “We don’t have any money, but here’s a bouquet of flowers.” “Thank you,” said the librarian, and paid the fine out of her own pocket.
