Rivoli Theatre Offers This Big Musical Comedy With a Cast of Fifty Entertainers The fact that A. B. Marcus, producer of numerous extravaganzas now on tour, gives his personal attention to the ‘‘Youth and Beauty Revue” which comes to the Rivoii Theatre, Muncie, for a three day stage engagement, starting next Thursday afternoon, is one reason why the production is such an outstanding hit. Tins magnificent production, with its big cast and gorgeous scenery and light effects, is the apple of Mr. Marcus’ eye. It‘s his favorite brain-child, so to speak and it should he. With thirty beautiful, youthful girls of exceptional ability, with twenty experienced actors in hilarious fcomedy, musical and specialty scenes, with dozens of the most beautiful costumes ever seen on any stage, with special scenery and fast, entertaining dialogue the "Youth and Beauty Revue” is enough to make any producer proud. Most bewitching, of course, are the girls. There are no less than thirty of these beauties and several times during the show all are on the stage in a spectacular display of feminine pulchritude. Thirty Broadway., charmers on the stage at the salhfe time is a lot like a sixring circus. One never knows just where to concentrate his attention. One of the most striking of the many gorgeous scenes is one called “The Spell of the Blues.” This tableau is fashioned after the song hit of that name and is presented to the accompaniment of a vocal solo by one of the men singers. But there are many beautiful scenes in this extravaganza, one following the other in quick succession. And there are girls of all types. Girls whose appearance speajt of the dreamy South; girls whose brunette beauty is representative of their foreign home lands.' friti'haired girls, tall girls, short girls. All in all one would have to travel many a mile to find such a diversified congress of feminine beauty as is presented in this colorful revue. Ejnhancing this native beauty are costumes of magnificent design and fabric.

Cast in a rtimantic, dashing role that suits his personality to the proverbial ‘IT”, Chevalier from the opening sequence to the final fadeout is joy to watch and a double

joy to listen to.

In support of Chevalier is Jeanette MacDonald, a new and charming leading lady whose unusual beauty and ability to wear gorgeous clothes, mark her as a new "find” in the world of motion pictures. Miss MacDonald, however, is an accomplished actress and the possessor of a pleasing singing voice, having starred in several Broadway musical comedies before attempting her present role on the screen. The songs featured in this picture and sung by Chevalier or Miss MacDonald, either as solos or duets are ‘‘My Love Parade”, "Anything To Please the Queen”, ‘‘Nobody’s Using It Now,” “My Dream Lover”,* and ‘‘Paris Stay the Same”. Other songs include “Let’s Be Common”, a novelty number sung by Lupino Lane and Lilliam Roth, and a rousing marching song, “March of the Grenadiers”. The music, all of which seems to be definitely in tlij^ song hit class, was composed bfy Victor Schertzinger, the man who

wrote ‘‘Marcheta”.

“The Love Parade” was directed by Ernst Lubitsch, whose imaginative direction is undoubtedly responsible for much of this picture’s success. Lubitsch, it will be remembered, was the director of “The Marriage Circle” and “The Patriot’’.
