Winfield S. Sutton, 76, Dead at Decatur
Decatur, Ind., Dec. 18.—Winfield Scott Sutton, 76, well known Adams munty resident, died at the Adams Bounty Memorial hospital at 5:30 I’clock Monday morning following i short illness. Death was said to have been dug to pneumonia. Mr. Sutton was taken to the hospital ast Thursday, and his condition became critical Sunday afternoon Death came early Monday morning. Winfield S. Sutton was born in ndiana in 1852. He was the son if Mr. and Mrs. John Sutton. In iarly years, Mr. Sutton learned the blacksmith profession, which he ’ollowed until several years ago, when he retired. At the time of his ieath, Mr. Sutton resided part of die time with his daughter, Mrs. Charles Shepherd, at Geneva, and the rest of the time with his son, Fudge Jesse C. Sutton, of this city.

Decatur Firm Gets locial Set Joins Anti-Liquor War Kansas City, Mo., Dec. 18.—Five attractive young women, described as socially prominent, have joined authorities in the crusade against liquor selling here. The drive started with the wrecking of a saloon last Monday liy a modern Carrie Na(ion. Police announced Monday that the volunteers, escorted by plain i clothesmen, had obtaiped drinks at six establishments and gathered evi dence upon which prosecutions will be brought. At! sixty-five places visited the women were refused liquor. Sergt. Elmer Duncan, head of thi raiding forces, explained that bootleggers were taking few chances s^nce the cleanup started, but that the amateur dry agents had been able to throw at least six bartenders off 'heir guard.
