KLAN VERSUS UNION LABOR.
In Kansas, organized labor is coming to the conclusion that the Ku KIux Klan is its radical enemy and that one of its objects, should it get in power, is the overthrow of conditions established by labor organizations. In To-

Even the “old man” gagged when it came to Wilbur Ryman.
The old man Burbanked the convention by making fourteen grow where only seven grew before. If we get it right Bob intended to kill the man who was shot and not killed, but did not intend to kill the man who was killed. Fair enough. Muncie offers more. Lockwood became a half-delegate to the Coolidge ratification but it took a special dispensation from the imperial palace to get him on.
Since they vote the way the old man tells them to why did he let Jackson get it? Oh, is that it? Going to take Jim’s job in 1926, is he? The Fiery Cross is now the official publication of the republiklan party in Indiana. The fourteen immortals might appropriately be dubbed the fifty per cent, offspring of a one hundred percent, klonvention.
Now is the time in the life of Ed Jackson that a vote is a vote, regardless of “creed, race or color.” The only thing missing at the republican state convention was the presentation of a flag and a Bible and a terr-dollar donation to the kludd.
If the old man tries any of his monkey business around the democrat convention he will need more than the two body guards who trailed after him last week. They claim'there will be four hundred of those what d’ye call ’ems in the democratic convention. Didn’t know there were that many freaks in the party. If the Skippoo Indians should happen to get control of the republiklan party in Indiana Jim Watson would put on a breech clout, paint red and green stripes on his hide, wear a ring in his nos? and eat raw dog. If Germany had licked America Jim Watson would have been in the reichstag by this time, cussing the United States.
Kansas. With Harry Sharp, secretary of the Employers’ Association, he also campaigned the state for the bust* ino. ness men’s organization. The latter organization maintains the biggest and strongest lobby that exists in the Kansas legislature. It has opposed every forward step for labor, including the minimum hour law for women, which
it bitterly fought.
Here is where the ku klux klan comes in. It is a well known fact that wherever the klan enters labor organizations there is bound to be a mixup because of the racial and religious differences in labor’s ranks. There is a large
element of foreign-born among miners and railroad shop- kindYchooi~board, "whoTm noV permen. Some time ago, a meeting was held in H. H. Howell’s law office to map out a plan whereby the klan could take over the Morning Press and turn it into a skunk paper. It is un derstood that they almost succeeded. The meeting was attended by L. D.

The fourteen half delegates-at-large from Indiana will be the laughing stock of the Cleveland convention. The sergeant-at-arms ought to make every sucker of them wear a nightie and^one of those high sharp hats with a hole to spit through. Real Republicans in Indiana have no\y come to the parting of the ways. No self respecting member of that party will vote for the governor candidate of the furies, titans, goblins and night hawks. If Ed Jackson is elected governor the klux horsethief association will become a part of the military of the state and Russia will be a paradise compared to Hoosierdom God forbid.
KLAN NEEDS HOUSE-CLEANING.
The Ku Klux Klan of East St. Louis started out to enforce the law against bootleggers and moonshiners, and in its first raid caught eight of its own members. Later it developed that the leaders of the movement were securing large sums of money by threatening those suspected of _
violating the law. As a result, Dr. H. F. Killene, exalted reputation so as to brighten up his cyclops of the East St. Louis Klan, Harve A. JUDGE KITTINGER TELLS ’EM.
Judge Kittinger, of Anderson, again this week laid the maul on the so-called horse thief detective association, in the course of the trial of a man whose home had been invaded by a band of these Ku Klux outlaws. Madison county’s fearless and popular judge voiced the sentiments of all law abiding citizens of Indiana when he said, from
the bench:
“As I see the law, if members of horse thief detective, be pern organizations are permitted to search private homes and Sunday, make arrests, we might as well abolish the office of sheriff — it ' and the police department, and throw the constitution in the court house cistern. I have looked this matter up and am telling you how I feel about it, so there may be no mis-
understanding.”
It was shown that there are now twelve different “horse thief detective” companies in Madison county with a combined membership of one thousand. The remarks of Judge Kittinger were timely and to the point. It seems outrageous that in the heart of peaceful Indiana an armed band of kluckers should be allowed to run amuck, endangering the lives of citizens and invading the sacred precincts of their homes.

POST-DEMOCRAT GROWS. Notwithstanding the determined battle made by its enemies to drive it out of the field, the Jo t-Dem-ocrat is enjoying a phenomenal growth. In March, 1923, when the Ku Klux Klan started its intensive legal battle against the editor of the Post-Democrat, the circulation was something like twenty-five hundred copies weekly. This week we are printing and circulating sixteen thousand copies. We were early “excommunicated” from the democratic party by the klucker democratic county chairman who was kicked out this month, because of our fight against the Ku Klux Klan. That our judgment was correct is now demonstrated by the fact that in Indiana the republican party is the ku klux party. The democratic party is the anti-ku klux party. t The Post-Democrat is now circulated in various cities in Indiana and Ohio. Thousands of copies are sent weekly to the latter state and many cities in both states are requesting representation in its columns. When the editor was slammed in jail and hustled to the penal farm for being held in “contempt” of a klucker judge a little over a year ago, the kluckers held a jubilee meeting and celebrated the “demise” of the Post-Democrat. They misjudged the vitality of the paper and the stamina of its publisher. The expense of litigation has taken every dollar that the publication has made and there are many more legal expenses to be met, but the Post-Democrat is here to stay. It has lived to rout the enemy in Muncie and its influence will be felt all over the state in the coming election. The truth cannot be suppressed by fines and prison sentences imposed by Ku Klux courts. We now have three cases in the supreme court. If tha prison sentences and enormous fines are affirmed, the body of the editor will be captive, but his newspaper will still continue to tell the eternal truth. We face the future fearlessly.
THE OLD MAN VISITS MUNCIE. It might be of interest to klansmen generally to know that D. C. Stephenson, the “Old Man” of the klan, was a Muncie visitor one day last week and was closeted with Sam Bremenderfer and “Cap” Norcross in the bat roost of the “independent” klan in the Anthony block. This is somewhat interesting from the fact that Bemenderfer in an address before his new klan, which was published in full in both of Muncie’s daily newspapers, spoke very unkindly of the dear old man, accusing him specifically of being responsible for the acceptance of Court Asher, a bootlegger, as a klan member and of giving Court a job as a special investigator for the klan at a high weekly salary. This goes to show that there is considerable buncombe about this great split in the Indiana klan. The public should not be deceived by published accounts of these terrific feuds between klan leaders— What Sam said about the old man was merely a grand stand play to fool the boobs who pay the ten. At least the roasting that Bemenderfer gave Stephenson, despite its torridity, does not prevent the two from getting their heads together for the purpose of framing some new deviltry. About the only thing klan leaders really quarrel about is over the question of cutting up the money the suckers give them. The old man, who by the way is not an old man at all, but instead is a young man thirty-three years of age, has been rather successful in the way of getting his and Bemenderfer hopes to go and do likewise. This klan business is strictly mercantile. The stock in trade is blue sky and it is sold through deceptive advertising by bunko artists who use the tactics of the fake oil and mining stock promoter. Sam and the old man are a great pair. Their flimsy pretense gets over with klan boobs but human beings don’t fall for it*
