It is stated in a paper from the Western part of New-York that some doubt has been stated as to the identity of Morgan's body. Four religious tracts printed in London were found in the pockets, and a scrap of paper on which was written in an unknown hand " September 24th, 1828 Mr. Websa " These particulars had given confirmation to a report that previous to the last examination, the body had been identified by a woman from Canada recently from Ireland, as her husband, who had been drowned with several others about five weeks before. Hill, who had confessed the murder, is suspected of being an imposter. There is one circumstance in his statement which could scarcely deceive. He makes

According to h"i3 account he cut Morgan's throat, and his body severed quite in two before it was thrown into the Niagara. If so, the lately found corpse cannot be Morgan's. The whole is still a mystery. Richmond Compiler. BY REQUEST From the Baptist Record, firinted at Blaojnjield, Ky. the two seeds. A correspondent in Palestine, sometime since requested our opinion on a pamphlet published by elder Daniel Parker, of Crawford county, Illinois, entitled the " Two Seeds." To this request we should have attended at an earlier period. We now briefly stale, that we believe the pamphlet is fraught with erroneous sentiments, and subversive of the faith of the o-osnel. If we understand elder Parker, he believes that the nomclcct ave the children of the Devil, and that God never created them cither directly or indirectly ; that they were not created in Adam, nor in him fell, and cf course, as they arc not the workmanship of God, for them the Saviour made no propitiation. He says " When Adam stood with his wife and seed in him, I cannot believe that there stood any in him but the church of Christ ; therefore all that fell in Adam, were the elect of God, chosen in Christ, before the world began Some of my reasons are these, (weigh them well ;) there are two settled points with me 1st. That God never created a set of beings, neither directly, nor indirectly, tint he suffered to be taken from him, and made the subject of his eternal wrath and indignation ; (think how could this bt consistent wi:h the diine Creator.) 2d. That God, as Gc;l,in Unease possesses more love and mercy, than power and wisdom. If he docs. Oh think, the pain and distress the great I Am, must feel and bear, to see the objects of his love and mercy sink to woe and miscrv, for the want of power and w isdom in himself to save ; where would be the glory now ?) As there is a third point equally st tiled in my mind ; which is, that the Universalian doctrine is false, ami that the unbeliever, dying in his sins, will sink to eternal woe ; it now devolves on me to show from what source the nonelect sprtr g--so at it we go. I he Serpent's seed (here spoken of.) 1 believe to be the non elect, which were not created in Adam, the original stock, bnt were brought into the world as the P'oduct of sin, was made susceptible of the ecdof the erpent. ' I am apprized that the unbelieving critic will try to believe, (notwithstanding
