Nanette Dipert is at Youth Mission camp
Nanette Dipert is being sponsored for the Youth In Mission camp program being held August 10 through 16 She is being sponsored by the North Kiwanis club hears report on corn roast The Lord’s Prayer was repeated in unison to open the August 4 meeting of Lakeland Kiwanis club A report was given about the August 2 corn and sausage roast. Sherm Bryant served as general chairman Don Martin announced that the date of the inter-club to Warsaw was changed because of the county fair Russell Churchill. Ralph Akers and Bill Charlton are reported to be on the sick list. Webster United Methodist Women All participants reported to a central location for group . orientation and preparation for work in their specific mission projects located elsewhere in the conference. Miss Dipert’s choice of projects include: the United Methodist Memorial Home at Warren; Logansport Mental Health and the Fort Wayne Inner City. At the Fort Wayne Mission project the young people 5 will operate a neighborhood vacation church school for children in a transitional neighborhood and participate in an Urban Life Seminar. Mrs Betty Barrett read the treasurer's report Mrs Wilcoxson read the devotions due to the absence of Elizabeth Baker, devotional leader She read from first Timothy. 2:1-6. The theme was “Ideals or Illusions ” The group voted to retain all present officers in office for another year They are: Mrs Wilcoxson — president Eva Lock — secretary and promotion Betty Barrett — treasurer Elizabeth Baker — devotional leader The next meeting will be held September 2 at North Webster Church of the Brethren

Students may pick up yearbook The Wawasee high school yearbook. “The Legend”, will be distributed on student registration days from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Seniors may get their books on August 21; juniors on August 22; sophomores on August 25. Members of the class of 1975 may pick up their yearbooks on any of the above dates. Receipts must be shown. All yearbooks not claimed by October 1 will be sold. Persons wishing to buy books may contact the high school after that date.
Pre-registration is underway
The Little Samuel’s nursery school in North Webster wishes to announce its pre-registration days August 13 through 15 from 9 Democrat caucus set for Aug. 28 The Democrat caucus for the town of Milford has been set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 28, at the fire station. A slate will be picked for the November election for town board seats and clerk-treasurer’s post. Precinct committeeman Dan Levemier states at least 20 persons must be present for a quorum.
