Both are attending Elizabethtown college He is a pre-mimsterial student.
The Christian church was the scene of the Sunday wedding of Miss Joan Evans of Milford and Lewis G. Bass of Louisberg. Mo. Both are employed by airlines. Mrs. Robert (Joy Biller* Rumfelt, who has served faithfully for 25 years as pianist for the church of Sunday school of the Hastings EUB congregation, has resigned Her son. Dennis, will replace her. JVNE 19.1941 Miss Thelma Price of Milford became the bride of Maurice Crow of Syracuse Saturday evening at nine o'clock. The single ring ceremony was read by Rev. Noble W. Neff at his home. Mrs. Crow, one of Milford’s highly respected young ladies, was formerly in the employ of Katie’s Case. The couple is living at Syracuse Lake Miss Helen Lentz will be accompanied to Chicago Thursday by her uncle and aunt. Mr. and Mrs. Weslry Hagen, with whom she intends to make her home. Miss Lentz will be employed at Marshall Field and Company. Mrs. Charles Purdum and Miss Margaret Vanderveer attended the "finals” at the Virginia Military Institute at Lexington where Charles Purdum. Jr., completed his third year of studies. He will graduate next vear as an electrical engineer. BIRTHS. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Vanderveer of near Gravelton became the proud parents of twin sons June 12. They were named Lowell and Lyle. The mother is the former Ruth Markley. Worth Jackson and Louise Locke returned Sunday from a week’s vacation at Munising. Mich.. 200 miles north of the Straits of Mackinaw. On their return trip it was necessary for them to stop their car two times for deer that were in the road. Philip Snyder, James Barnes. Joe Estep, and Joe Sunthimer. Bloesch, pastor of Saint Paul Evangelical church, northeast of Bourbon, performed the single ring ceremony at the parsonage home in Bremen. The young folks are from the very best kind of homes and being so endowed they certainly have inherited the good traits that their parents have enjoyed these years. The couple spent a week in Gary with Mr and Mrs. Charles Cunningham. the later being a sister of the bride. They are residing in South Bend. Miss Mary Weybright entertained Thursday evening at three tables of bridge in honor of the birthday anniversary of Harold Bums at the home of her parents. Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Hastings. Others attending included Miss Berrnce Taylor of Pontiac. Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Fred Anglin of Leesburg; and Mr. and Mrs Charles Funk, Kenneth Wilkin. Miss Flossie Price and Elmer Hartter of Milford. Miss Marybelle Lentz spent a part of last week with the Tom Sharp family in Warsaw. Mrs Earl Wolferman and two sons were guests in the home of her sister. Mrs. Melvin Lingofelter, Thursday. Milford Police Report Shows Minor Accidents The latest report from the Milford police department showed a rash of minor accidents on the town's main street. The first accident reported involved a 1964 Dodge owned by Eloise F. Brown, r 4 Warsaw, and driven by John E. Stapleton. 26. Nappanee and a vehicle which left the scene. Approximately S2OO damages were reported to the left rear fender and bumper of the Brown vehicle. Both cars were being backed from parking places on Main street and the drivers backed into one another. The second accident occurred when a 1967 International Scout was traveling North on Main street and the driver, Fred D. Thomas. 54. r 3 Syracuse, attempted to turn east on Emeline. He turned too short and struck a parked vehicle owned by Darlene E. Miller, r 1 Milford. Damages to the left rear of the Miller auto, a 1969 Pontiac, were listed at $125. No damages were reported to the Scout. Arrests Made Alex Morris was picked up by chief Don Drake for leaving the scene of an accident in Goshen. The Goshen report showed S3OO damates to Morris' 1967 Buick and S2OO to a maple tree and shrubs. Bernard P. Martin. 30, r 1 Milford was arrested for not having a registration in his possession When he failed to appear in court a warrant was issued for his arrest.

Boy Scouts' Fair Set For The Week End W’ith the Boy Scouts' fair opening at 1 p.m. this Saturday. June 19 the troops and packs are very busy. Pack 28 of Syracuse, under the guidance of Ron Roberts, will have one of the larger booths. Pack 61 of Pierceton will carry the national scout theme of a clean outdoors (called SOAR). Rex Mast and his cubs will give another fine performance. Explorer Post 67 in a recent outing gave an excellent demonstration of outdoor eating. Other featured displays that old and young will enjoy are ropemaking, suckling pig roasting and the popular "pine wood" derby. Hours are 1 to 6 p.m. Saturday and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday. The event will be held in the merchants building, Kosciusko countyfairgrounds. Tickets are available from local scouts or at the door of the merchants building. Grandson Os Milford Couple Wins Honor Danny Thwaits. son of Mr. and Mrs. Verl Thwaits of Marion and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. George Auer of r 1 Miford. was chosen the most valuable player in baseball at the Marion Parents Athletic Association Banquet. Mrs. Mary Thwaits of Sidney is Danny's paternal grandmother. 1972 New Farm Wheat Allotment A new farm wheat allotment may be established for the 1972 crop of wheat for farms that did not have a 1971 allotment if they meet eligibility requirements. Scott Hom, chairman of the county ASC committee announced today. A 1972 wheat allotment will be established automatically for all farms that had a wheat allotment in 1971. To be eligible for a new farm allotment, the operator must expect to receive 50 per cent or more of his income from farming. Neither the owner or the operator may have an interest in any other farm which has a 1972 wheat allotment, and the person making application must have had at least two years experience in the last five years in producing wheat. Applications for a new farm allotment must be filed in the county office on or before June 30. Any interested producer who can meet these requirements should contact the county office before the final date for filing an application. Publish Genealogy Os The Baumgartner Family
A genealogy of the Baumgartner family, the descendants of Benedict and Anna Hofer Baumgartner, has been written by Joseph C. Baumgartner, Cleveland, Ohio, and published last month by the Mail-Journal Publishing Company. Milford. Mr. Baumgartner, a native of Cissna Park. 111., and a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Emil Baumgartner. Milford, graduated in 1921 from Goshen college where he won an oratorical peace award. While attending college, he worked during his spare time for the old Goshen News-Times. After receiving a bachelor of arts in political science and a master of arts degree from the University of Michigan, Mr. Baumgartner attended Harvard University and did graduate work at Western Reserve University. Cleveland He is coauthor of "The Challenge of Democracy" and "The Family” and author of “Housing The Nation?’ A retired social studies teacher of Lincoln High School. Cleveland. Mr. Baumgartner resides with his wife, the former Gladys Andrews, at 21160 West Wagar Circle. Cleveland. Dedication Set For June 26 At Camp Logan A new imit at Camp Ella J. Logan, the Girl Scout camp located on Dewart Lake near Syracuse, will be dedicated Saturday. June 26. at 3 p.m. To be known as the Webster Unit, it will serve as a memorial to Miss Joan Webster, who served Limberlost Girl Scout Council from 1960 to 1969 in a variety of capacities —as Camp Logan director, field adviser, training director, adviser to public relations and camp committies, and was executive director before her untimelydeath in an automobile accident in Texas two years ago.
