Wedding vows exchanged

The First Baptist Church, HoChester, was a formal setting for the wedding of Miss Chera Lynne Chamberlain and James C, Neal, Jr. in August. The couple spent their honeymoon on the East Coast and are now living in LaPorte. The wedding, officiated by the Rev. Lawrence Smith, pastor of the Grace United Methodist Church, took place August 3rd. Preceeding the exchange of vows of the double ring ceremony Mrs. Charles Long, organist, presented appropriate selec-

tions. A classmateof Miss Chamberlains’s sang “Because” and Wedding Prayer”. The altar of the church was decorated with standing baskets of white gladiolus and purple asters. The pews were marked with white satin bows entwined with ivy. Miss Chamberlain wore a lovely white silk organza and lace creation fashioned with a wedding ring collar, long sleeves tapering to the wrists and a full gathered chapel length train. The empire bodice and front of the A-line skirt were with lace

and clusters of seed pearls. Her tiered French illusion veil was secured to a seed pearl open crown. She carried aclassiccascade of bridal ivy trimmed with lace bells and shower streamers entwined with lover’s knots, centered with roses. The groom’s gift to the bride was a wrist watch. Serving her sister as Matron of Honor was Miss Michele Chamberlain, Miami Springs, Fla., Miss Paulette Felke, Rochester, and Mrs. Harl Peters, Greencastle, were bridesmaids. Both the bridesmaids and the Matron of Honor were fashioned alike in gowns of pink linen, featuring scooped necklines, bellshaped sleeves and empire bodices. Each gathered full back A. line skirt was highlighted by multiple cotton lace and velvet streamers at the high rise waistline. The bride’s attendants carried formal cascades of orchid asters, stephanotis and grape clusters. William Cover,Denver,Ind.and classmate of the groom,attended as best man. Groomsmen were Jack Hurst and Harl Peters,both of Greencastle and brothers-in-law of the groom. Guests were seated by the ushers, Larry Edwards, and Donaid Honlett. Mrs. Laura Chamberlain, Aunt of Miss Chamberlain, chose a Bob Rossie creation of an original silk two-piece suit highlighted by crystal beads on the neckline and sleeves. Her hat of ostrich feathers and her shoes were of matching color. Her corsage was of green cymbidium orchid. Mrs. Neal, mother of the groom, wore a turquoise Jonathan Logan sheath with matching accessories. She wore a pink cymbidium orchid corsage. Following the ceremony, awedding reception for 150 guests was held in the lower part of the church. DePauw University, graduating from The Famous Artists Course in Commercial Art and most recently completing her studies with The New York School of Interior Design. She plans to operate her decorating business from her home on a free-lance basis. She will offer an interior decorating service which will inelude consultation, shopping service and co-ordination and supervision of work. Mrs. Poor is the wife of Robert L. Poor, and resides at 108 Northwood with her husband and two daughters.

Service Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Gouch and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Records spent the week end with the Couches’ son who is in service at F. Campbell, Ky. Visit Miss Florence Erwin visited her sister, Mrs. Edith Chadwick and daughter, Marie, at South Bend last week. Guest Mr. and Mrs. Hal Tobin of Indianapolis were Sunday guests of his mother, Mrs. Ruth Dean. Attend meeting P.G. Evans and David G. Jackman, of Greencastle attended the 55 state meeting of the Indiana Real Estate Association held last week at Evansville, Indiana. The Saturday sessions took place in an Evansville new multi-million dollar Civic Auditorium, that has a seating capacity of 3,000.

Page 3 Reelsville F.H.A. holds meeting On Wednesday, September 25, 1968 the Reelsville Chapter of F.H.A. held the first meeting of the year in the Home Economics room. The officers of this year are: President, Tanis Strahl; Vicepresident, Teresa Eyler; Secretary, Barbara Perkins; Treasurer, Beverly Strahl; Reporter, Martha Dobson; Historian, Deb. bie White; Parliamentarian, Doris Hartman; Project Chairman, Shirley Albright; Public Relations, Charelene Yater; Recreation Leader, Joyce Haltom. After the opening ceremony, the officers informed the members of their duties. Rita Craft and Penny Tellas told the girls about the purposes, emblem, motto, and flowers of F.H A. The national and state programs of the year were discussed and Linda Elmore and Nancy Leonard read the requirements for an honor chapter of F.H.A. Also the ways to earn points were given to 18 new' members. The Fall District meeting which is an officers’ workshop, will be held Saturday, Oct. 19, at Danville High School. The President appointed Beverly Strahl, chairman, Susie Grimes, Nancy Farmer, and Laura Killion to a ways and means committee. The next meeting will be held October 16 in the Home Economics room.

Funeral Notices Hugh Collins rites held

Services for Hugh F. Collins, 80, of route 1 Cloverdale, will be at 10:30 Thursday at the Universalist Church in Cunot. A retired farmer and former Trustee of Jackson township, Owen County, he passed away Monday at his residence. He was a member of the Universalist Church in Cunot, and the F and AM No. 132 of Cloverdale. He was preceded in death by his wife Myrtle in 1962. Survivors include, one son, Cleon of Walkerton; two sisters, Ruth Vice and Ester Childers both of Elmira, Ark.; 12 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Carlyle, in May of this year. Burial will be in the Cunot Cemetery. Friends may call at the Whitaker Funeral Home in Cloverdale anytime. Lyle Call dies here Services for Lyle A. Call, 64, of 402 W. Columbia St. will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Rector Funeral Home in Greencastle. He was the superintendent of the Greencastle Sewage Plant. He died Tuesday at the Putnam County Hospital. He was a member of the Union Chapel Church, Morton Masonic Lodge and the Moose Lodge of Greencastle. He is survived by his wife, Della; two sons, Marvin of Mooresville and Donald of Martinsville; two daughte”s in law, Virginia and Mary Lou; five grandchildren, four si: ters, Mrs. Thelma Cooper of Roachdale, Mrs. Mary Cooper of Russellville, Mrs. Ruth Early of Route 1 Greencastle and Mrs. Leona Terry of Greencastle; two aunt^ Mrs. Nell Bettis of Indianapolis and Mrs. Maude O’Haver of Morton.
