Miss Maryrose E. Kerns, daughter of Alton Kerns and the late Mrs. Kerns, became the bride of Michael L. Bullerdick, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Bullerdick of Greencastle, in a late summer wedding in the St. John Lutheran Church at the Cross Roads in Dubois County Sunday, September 18. The Rev. Elmer J. Johnson, Pastor of the church, read the double ring ceremony at 2:30 P.M., in the presence of a large circle of relatives and friends of the couple. The altar was decorated with palms, two sevenbranched candelabra and baskets of white and yellow mums. Preceding the ceremony, Mrs. Willis Nigg, organist, played a selection of bridal music, including “Because,” “Air in F Major,’* “When Thou Art Near” and “O Perfect.** She accompanied Miss Judy Albright, who sang, “The Wedding Prayer,” “A Wedding Benediction” and “The Lord’s Prayer,” as the couple knelt at the altar. “The Bridal Chorus” was used for the Processional and “The Wedding March” for the recessional. The attendants were Miss Nancy Todd, maid of honor, Miss Kathy Stalcup, niece of the bride, flower girl. Daryl Freeman was best man and ushers were John Strack and Gregg

Stearly.

The bride entered on the arm of her father, who gave her in marriage. She was lovely in her bridal gown of white Alencon lace and bridal satin. The sheath dress featured a scoop neckline, accented with seed pearls and long sleeves that ended in a point over the hand. A cardinal coat of bridal satin, with Alencon lace echoes, fell from the shoulders and ended in a chapel train. Her shoulder length veil of illusion fell from a crown of lace and seed pearls and she wore a single strand of pearls, the gift of the bridegroom. Her bridal bouquet was a cascade of white glamelias with white

streamers.

Miss Todd wore a floor length gown of green chiffon over taffeta, fashioned with scoop neck, empire waist-line, accented with satin bow's, and elbow length sleeves. She wore a crown of

Serving at the reception were Miss Suzanne Bauer, Mrs. Clarence Kerns, Mrs. Loren Harding and Mrs. Richard Hawkins. Mrs. Osborne Hutchins gave inspirational devotions. The president announced joint meetings for the remainder of the calendar year. The October meeting will have installation of officers in addition to the program. The program for the afternoon was given by Miss. Lorna Barber, former professor in the Home Economics Department at DePauw, who has spent some time in the Middle East as a consultant and technical advisor on nutrition. She was serving the committee for Refugee work of the Near East Council of Churches. She presented a vivid picture of the need for education and technical help in order to raise the standard of living among everyone, but particularly among the women and children. She stressed teaching the Arabs how to supply their own needs, rather than just giving them what they need. Miss Barber showed handwork, carving, and jewelry which she had brought back with her. This was a most interesting program. Refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Eugene Hutchins, Mrs. James Risk, and Mrs. Glenn Irwin.
