Fire Warning System Enlarged The Directors of the Reelsville Volunteer Fire Department met October 17th at the Fire House. A proposal was before the board to extend their fire phone system. Mr. Wolfe of the Clay County Rural Telephone Company was present to discuss with the board the possibilities and advantages of an extended fire warning system in this community. The board then granted eight additional hookups which with the present nine, brings the department a total of seventeen fire warning devices located throughout the community, providing greater
and more efficient fire protection. The financial report for the upcoming year was presented to and approved by the board. This board being composed of four members of Washington Township who are not active as firemen, along with the township trustee, complimented the firemen on their quick response to grass and wooded area fires during this drought. As a result no property damage has been reported.
